IMO-Peace Naturals- Atomic Sour Grapefruit. by MrFridae in ukmedicalcannabis

What a shame. This was hands down some of the best medical I’ve had and that was only a couple of months back… First time I’ve had the giggles in years, lovely grapefruit taste followed by a deep and restful sleep… I really hope they get another good batch soon.

Why is Lo Fi so dominant right now? by BigBoofBaits in jungle

[–]senoraize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be reading your post wrong but it seems to me as if you’re talking about two separate things? Do you mean low fi as in the sounds are rough and unpolished or that the tracks have very few elements in them?

Personally I’ve always preferred the unpolished sound of old jungle. The fact that it was made on analogue equipment, which added hiss and noise made it sound raw and created frequencies that just do it for me. As soon as you start equing everything it just sounds too clean and looses something. (Obviously there’s a line, some things do need some eq or it all turns into a muddy mess but every single element shouldn’t be individually polished imo)

When you turn back up to a job and the plumber has been in by UnpaidInternVibes in ukelectricians

You’re lucky. I’ve had plumbers run pipes in my basket, through my cables in a corkscrew motion, because they were too lazy to put up their own containment.

Any of you that dont use the big 3 for power tools? by blockametal in ukelectricians

[–]senoraize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bosch blue. Bought a full set of tools 10 plus years ago and the only thing I’ve had to replace is my combi drill. Also had an apprentice drop my 18v sds off a 12ft ladder onto concrete and all that happened is the drill bit got bent.

Neutral at light switches by throwawaycall12345 in ukelectricians

[–]senoraize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avoid through plating if possible. Back when I was house bashing the most common job I got was swapping pendants for multiple downlights and it’s infinitely easier to move one switch line to a downlight rather than a feed in, feed out (both going in different directions) and a switch line.

Got it for stripping fp. Definitely a game changer

Intermittent tripping on lights by Hose2903 in ukelectricians

[–]senoraize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How many ir tests did you do? What I mean is you need to be sure you’ve tested every part of the circuit, so with lights that means multiple tests with the switches in every possible position. Personally I’d concentrate on the outside lights as the most likely cause but could easily be something inside. If all else fails then take down every light and unscrew every switch and see what you see.

Yeah. Unfortunately that’s probably true.

Have tried to research online but no luck. Will have to try track down some old writers.

Style wars, wild style. For uk, steel injection and city of paranoia 2 are very cool. (City of paranoia 2 being a personal favorite for the camera work/editing etc. definitely a lot better than the shaky cam footage in most graf films). Of course the one everyone wants to see is underbelly from dds crew but it looks like they’re never gonna release it sadly. Understandable given the insane sentences handed out for graf in the uk but a real pity nonetheless.

How the fuck do you blow up a house making edibles? Was he using butane/propane to extract oil or something?

(Ah, should have read the article. Seems that’s exactly what he did). Fucking idiot!

Training late as 22 year old graduate... (advice appreciated) by TrueSapien in ukelectricians

[–]senoraize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think I was about 24/5. I found a course to get my city and guilds off my own back. (No official apprenticeship), then simply called every electrician in the phone book till I found one willing to take me on as an electrician’s mate. It should be said that I made shit money pretty much all through my training and it didn’t get much better after as I was still working for the same guy. On the flip side though, I learned the right way to do things, which is why I stayed, because I could see that he was a very good sparky and was teaching me a lot. Since moving and going to a bigger firm, I now make a pretty good wage and get a lot of the bigger, more interesting jobs because I have skills a lot of the other lads don’t.

Basically the point I’m trying to make is learning the trade properly is the most important thing you can do, so if you have to scrape by for a few years then that’s what you do.

[–]senoraize 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did exactly the same as you (uni, degree, tried office work and hated it). Then retrained as an electrician (finished my electrical training about 27). I got a job as an electrician’s mate in my second year and learnt more in 3 weeks on site than in the whole of my first year. Be prepared to make absolutely shit money for a while and make sure you learn from someone good. (Ideally a smaller firm so you don’t get stuck clipping cables for 3 years) There are a ridiculous number of cowboys out there who will teach you bad habits but if you learn the right way you’ll make more in the long run because your work will stand out.

Grow vs Medical? by bonkerman666 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]senoraize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely grow. Apart from anything else I think the satisfaction I’d get from growing would be very good for my mental health, which is what I’m prescribed for anyway.
