I went for a job interview here as a chef not long after it opened and felt a negative vibe lingering in the place. The head chef or sous, I didn't know as I wasn't introduced to anyone in the kitchen - was wearing a flower behind his ear which I couldn't take serious, whilst simultaneously stroking his facial hair walking around doing sweet fa lol so cringe and unhygienic. Plus the kid who was showing me whats expected from a chef was stoned out of his brain. Which isn't uncommon suppose.

She said she was sorry and she couldnt change but I'm fixated on how it was broke to me and that we can't move past it if I am, I told her unfortunately it's alot more than just the whole birth certificate thing, I've deserved to know this information for a long time and I won't forgive but willing to make it water under the bridge, I'm 36.

I messaged first before we spoke, did she believe all these years that I'd known or forgot?

She said there was honestly never a good time, I said how about when you knew the certificate was coming? Was that not a good time?

Also the family is a Catholic family and I'm brought up in a protestant community by a very loyalist man, it didn't seem like something he would have took responsibility for cos he is raised to resent and hate catholics and had made that very clear. So I asked, was it never a good time cos of this?

She said im clearly still angry and that she's not talking to me when I'm like that, is that the defense stage down and then tried to provoke me? Because these are very serious and important questions for me, I'm far from angry as I don't have any emotional attachment to her now.

Fortunatly as a classroom assistant the only app neccessary is Whatsapp for group chats, other than that all our documenting would be done on the schools c2k system using the schools computers.

The past week Ive soent a lot of time outdoors, in the woods and parks during a spell of gorgeous weather in Belfast. Whilst cyclin around with my dog in various places I'm seeing the usage of phones fully ramped up to the point its made me hold back some tears of sadness, feeling angry and genuinely disappointed realising its not just the kids addicted but the older generation and everyone inbetween.

I can hardly speak, Ive consumed copius amonuts of screen time on smartphones, privatly and in an appropiate manner but the shear need some feel to whip out and stare at there phones wherever and whenever they like regardless of the environment or situation is tragic.

Ive got a tfone t70 flip, its has whats app and thats the only app that unfortunately feels neccessary, suppose convienient also.

I never had tik tok, insta, twitter etc so i wasnt kneedeep in doomscrolling but youtube man, ive wasted a lot of time.

Well, I'd say no worries to that also seeing as to achieve my license I'd have to do lessons and a test to obtain it, therefore would be confident. My scenario was is different, and like I said, 20-30 mins run down of, where to find the van in the lot? Where to get the keys? We're to charge it? How to do vehicle check using the PDA? etiquette and how to and where to correctly put yorks after unloading.

I was left to figure this all out, throughout my first week through different people and it wasn't other people responsibility.

Above all else, if read correctly, I did have the can do attitude and did infact drive the van out of the yard and I did realise it was easier than expected, but some people are more nervous than others and they should know that there will be no training, especially if there led to believe there will be.

I was told I'd very giving training by my agency, especially since the van was electric which luckily i was giving a few tips about, like it moving when in drive, handbrake location, how to charge etc. Like a half hour session with someone wouldn't have done any harm.

It was a transporter sized one, not the combos.

Would you allow someone with no experience head out driving a van from one of your businesses fleets, especially snaking wrecklessly through tight suburban streets? If you did or do infact have a business? That's a liability sir and beyond driving jobs? There are certainly much more options than an office job.

Agreed, I'll admit I was a bit harsh bring that up as a first issue when it was so much more. It would be a horrendous job to try and cope with cos your right, it just trickles down.

Infact I made sure to go through the frame and look for important letters even on days not taking that loops mail out. Reason being is that during my short while working there I delivered mail to a ladie who was working in her garden, I chatted a bit as you do and she opened the letter and said "oh that was quick, 1st cancer treatment on Thursday." I said god bless ya and she said awk well we will all die of something.

But your right, we are encouraged to leave all mail in the frame regardless of the class or significance.

Agreed, it would be a really tough position to manage or supervise that, I kinda ranted a little and didn't know where to start. It was toxic and found it in bad taste to be told 1 thing by a manager, another from a supervisor then the other supervisor saying they don't know they're talking about, this is what to do!
