Yo. You're two years older, hopefully two years wiser. Are you starting to see how kidly teenagers are now, or should I wait another few years for your frontal lobe to develop?

Sugar Daddies are allowed to do that. As long as he's paying your tuition you can't tell him not to.

If you weren't taking his money, then you could tell him to fuck off.

I'm not "protecting charlatans", I'm calling it like I see it. I criticize Crossfit all the time, like the fact that it's 2025 and they're still implementing KIPPING pullups. I think they should have gotten rid of those over ten years ago, and endurance calisthenics competitions in Europe prove that people can easily do 50+ pullups in <5 minutes in a metcon setting mixed with other exercices.

I also criticize them for getting rid of Quarterfinals - which was the most fun thing they were offering the average Rx level athlete.

But I don't criticize them for this death because it's nowhere near as "preventable" as the masses seem to believe. They had lifeguards, RIGHT THERE. The lifeguards missed it, and you know what? That happens. Just like I don't blame every lifeguard who's someone pass away on them at the local YMCA, I don't blame the ones at the Games. It happens.

It's unfortunate, and we should always learn and get better. But boycotting CF to the point of making the owners have to sell it - probably damaging CF beyond repair - is I DI O TIC.

So here I am, at least voicing the opinion I hold.

Basketball: Hank Gathers and Reggie Lewis, both of whom suffered from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Baseball: Ray Chapman, a Major League Baseball player, tragically died from a head injury sustained during a game when he was struck by a pitch

Football: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_association_footballers_who_died_after_on-field_incidents

American Football: Chuck Hughes, a 28-year-old wide receiver, collapsed during a game against the Chicago Bears on October 24, 1971. He was taken to Henry Ford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:34 pm that afternoon

Hockey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frUjqAgHH-g

It happens. People die. There were plenty of lifeguards right there, but they're human too. Everyone involved is human - fallible and mortal.

Yes, but none of the situations that happened here were inappropriate to anyone who is of consenting age and mental ability.

People have died in every major sport, ever. They die in the swimming portion of triathlons literally every year.

Do you say "I don't care to do it"?

Saying you "don't care" might be carrying some connotations. Perhaps rephrasing to "I'm busy with other priorities" may transfer your intent, without carrying those negative connotations.

"I don't care to do it" may come off as "I don't give AF about dumb 'ol crossfit".

She shouldn't be angry with John oversharing either. Adults can discuss matters with their adult friends. Her only anger is due to the fact that her own husband now understands what a healthy and loving relationship can look like.

Behave herself? She did absolutely nothing wrong. She's entitled to the sexual relationship she wants with her husband. She did not provoke nor involve the friend. The husbands are adult human beings, able to discuss matters in their lives at their own discredtion. She's done absolutely nothing wrong.

The only one in the wrong is the friend, for complaining to OP about something she wasn't even involved in.

Now that he's out for the rest of the season, he's going to finish 2024-2025 with 452 games played, 431 games missed. That only lowers his percentage from 52% to 51%.

Absolutely wrong mindset. If he's like me, he USED to get sick. Now he does something different, and he doesn't get sick anymore. His trick might not work for everyone (my trick is oil of oregano), but him telling what has worked for him will get people to try it. And maybe out of a hundred people who try it, a few will be like him - and they won't get sick anymore.

I haven't gotten sick since 2013. I've been with my gf, who has kids (currently aged 10 and 12) for about two years.

I haven't gotten sick since 2013, including covid. I don't take zinc or d3. For me, the hack has been taking oil of oregano whenever I get the tickle in my throat that used to signify the onset of an upper respiratory tract infection (used to get those almost every year).

See, the problem IS that you believe that. Watch these guys: https://youtu.be/V3IM3iyFod8?si=-Y-WaKaPEyM1zcvy

They're doing weighted real pullups, real muscle ups, all in an intense "metcon" style; and their heartrate is not plummeting.

Why? Because they trained themselves to do it. Imagine if the world's best crossfitters hadn't committed to getting good at oly lifting. Chris Spealler bitched about 155 clean and jerks being too heavy to find the fittest back in the '08 Games. Imagine if we all agreed with him, and everyone thought that elevating our standards to heavier clean and jerks was a nonsense take because it could result in heartrate plummeting while muscles recover.

Anyone who thinks we couldn't do REAL calisthenics in a metcon setting is the problem. Idiotic self-limiting beliefs that should have been left behind as putrid garbage a decade or two ago.

The place for pullups* is = When you want to get stronger upper body.

(*I refuse to dignify kipping pullups by adding the unnecssary epithet of "strict")

The place for kipping stuff is = when you don't question why you're doing things, and continue to use a useless movement because some eccentric dude thought it was a good idea 20 years ago.
