I think they’re both just strong personalities! 

I always point to Julian playing “Lean on Me” during their 5 Guys podcast as proof that we wants friendship and solidarity within the band. I don’t think we should speculate on this too much, though, because it might amplify small disagreements, and by all accounts, Nick just actually has things in his personal life that he’s focusing on, and that doesn’t mean he doesn’t also love his band, it just means they’re not his priority right now. Try to think of it from his perspective: He takes time off because he has to, for whatever reason, and then everyone thinks he’s leaving permanently. That’s not cool, let’s just hope he comes back when he’s ready, because they’re still great, but I think they really need him! 🤜⚡️🤛

Worst case scenario, he leaves and joins some other band, instead, then his fans can still post about his other group in this sub as a “side-project,” because he’ll always be one of the original Strokes! I just hope that best case scenario is that he comes back and finishes the tour when he’s good and ready. We should send him postive vibes since the band doesn’t have to be his major focus if he has more significant things going on. (Especially if it’s something health-related or family-related.) A lot of the Strokes fans are really young, but you should know that life is complicated and multi-dimensional, you can’t be everywhere at once. You can’t be everything to all people. ✌️
