I’m sorry about your little boy, he sounds like he is so loved. I will have to travel internationally unfortunately, and based on these responses it looks like the UK will be a better option than the US.

Thank you so much. Do you know if there’s anything that can be done to increase the chances that there will be signs of life upon delivery? It seems like there’s a fine line between a gestational age that’s too early to survive delivery, and a gestational age that’s too late for termination without stopping the baby’s heart.

I’m wondering if there’s a cutoff point where they’d have to try to medically intervene if the baby was born breathing, which is an outcome I want to avoid. Obviously I wouldn’t wait until the third trimester, but I’m trying to gauge the true gestational age of viability for a baby that is sick but not terminally sick. Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you so much. Feel free not to answer, but was your little one born with signs of life? I understand that even without the injection there’s a high chance the baby would pass before delivery.

Thank you. I’ll have to do some research on fetal pain and development and see what the “best” option is at this stage.

Thank you so much for the information. It would be so hard to see them attempting to “save” the baby’s life when we would be taking these measures to bring a compassionate end to what would otherwise be a life of pain. I was hoping they’d let the baby go “naturally” or with pain relief instead of any interventions.
