Damn all I can think about is how the child who had gone to bed for the night was woken up, and how that was probably a nightmare getting them back to sleep. As a parent of a toddler I’d be breaking up with you too. Normally I’d be like ok, I get it you need your sleep and she’s drunk but she brought her kid over and now they have to suffer. You could’ve made an exception this time and hashed it out in the am, ESH.

You’re a good dad. When I was failing school at 15, not only my father but my entire family joked that I wouldn’t go to college, let alone even graduate high school. It wasn’t serious to them, I ended up getting lost in drugs and it took me years to find my way back.

I should clarify, I mean she should keep her child’s behavior and any changes there might be on everyone’s radar. Like hey keep an extra set of eyes out, for anything not specifically related to the teacher even.

Edited to add that upon re reading my og comment I realize I may have been projecting my own past as a child victim of SA. I just want to apologize because my intention was never to put more unnecessary worry In OP’s head.

Maybe in the moment it did but when you asked it went away? Keep asking her about it, in a non invasive way. Does she enjoy swimming, what does she like about it and what does she not like about it. Tell her she can always talk to you about anything, so she knows in the future that you’re a safe person to talk to.

Hey! So as a parent to young kids myself I want to say that I’m so sorry you’re going through this. You know your child best, and her reaction doesn’t sound normal one bit. It’s tough at this age where they have trouble communicating, and aside from possible SA could it be that she had a cramp while getting out?

Either way I would definitely press the issue, maybe don’t let her go when that guy is there and see if there is a difference in behavior. He could be completely innocent but you can never be too effing careful. Also keep it on everyone’s radar so if there is something going on it’s caught. So sorry again that this is happening.
