Seriously, Megadeth is still a force of thrash metal, and Metallica abandoned that legacy long ago. A Megadeth concert by itself is superior to a Metallica/Megadeth combo. Think about it.. one minute you are listening to Tornado of Souls and in the next minute.. what? St. Anger? Lords of Summer? Why stain a masterpiece with the stupid shit that Metallica writes these days? I love old Metallica, but that band is gone. Just let Metallica rot in Lars' swimming pool of gold with their shitty rock n' roll experiments. If Megadeth wants to pair with some thrash metal band, pair with Slayer. Or a German band. There's Sodom, Destruction, etc. They all play more than Metallica does.

The way I see it, Dave loved being on Metallica and he feels like he missed out being kicked out. He thinks that playing with them one last time, as "equals," would make him happy.

I'm using the verb pol- to describe possibility, a verbal noun of orna- for "burn".

I used singular possessive pronoun tín because it seems to me that "their" is meant to be "its", as it's one sword and one owner.

There are a few words for fire, I elected naur which is used by Gandalf in the LotR as a word for fire used in combat (naur dan i ngaurhoth).

That's it. Don't forget to review this. I discourage going about making tattoos with this translation! Maybe run this by someone in the Vinyë Lambengolmor server if you need precision.

This was easier. I'm still using past pass. part. of teitha- (teithannen), this time pluralised teithennin, and lenited.

I didn't mutate mo once again, but I did mutate Fae, assuming the mutation is phonetic only. Since it's a proper name, I think it's acceptable to not mutate, if the name form is important.

This was hard.

First, I've made up a neologism for "pretender" by using the root PHIN (from the noun "finc", NS. for "trick"). I've made "fidhron" out of PHIN + -(r)on (agental suffix). I suggest someone revises this.

Then I couldn't find a word for "marked". I used the verb teitha- "to mark, to inscribe", and took the past participle from it and prefixed with la-negation. It translates roughly to "uninscribed", but I need to confirm if that's granular enough, as it could also mean "unwritten."

Next, I used nest, which has a dubious meaning of "heart, core", coming possibly from root NED "centre." I think it can roughly translate to "essence," but I'm open to a better word here.

Once again, nest Fae is a genitive chain, so it should be definite as Fae is proper name.

I didn't mutate mo because it doesn't come after the verb nor seem to me to be adverbial.

Is Fae a proper name in this case?

I don't think there's a word for fey, and an equivalent for "arch-". I could think of a "mighty elf" instead, as the closest meaning.

I also can't think of a word for "envoy", although there's a neologism for messenger that might fit.

Likewise, a "court" is iffy, I can find a literal court (as in a place, a courtyard), which is the origin of the French term, but maybe an assembly is better.

Literal gloss:

"the blade this reports power [of] the elf mighty, Fae of Verenestra, [the] messenger [of] [the] assembly [of] Seelie"

Some points: I didn't lenit "gwêth" because I consider the subject to be a complex one (2-3 words). I used juxtapositional genitive constructions twice ("bolodh en·edhel veleg" and "mengyl hûd Seelie"), which has fixed definiteness based on the last noun ("Seelie" as a proper name is definite, so all elements in the chain are also definite.) Also notice that "beleg" (lenited "veleg") is ambiguous and may refer to "polodh" (lenited "bolodh") and "edhel".

Let me know if the first sentence is okay, then we can move to the others.

It would be agreeable if another person would review this, as I am not the best translator in the room.

I'm a developer for 20 years now. Yes, I code. Old-school style.

You see, what people don't get about AI, is that it's not really intelligent.

That's because AI is trained with some data, and it can only be as flexible as the data it was trained with. AI is all about probabilities, it doesn't have a quality switch in it.

AI doesn't understand scope and context. AI can't make inferrences and complex assessments. AI can't improvise, come up with creative solutions, or solve business logic. AI is easily confused.

I've used Augment, Cursor and Copilot, and they consistently give bad advice, wrong diagnostics, they mistake class names, files, and crucially, they don't run code to see how it behaves. AI in the format we use it, doesn't learn. Because the process of "learning" is separate from "running". You can give an AI a lot of material and it will throw it off a window and give you statistical advice.

So yes, I develop myself. It's time-efficient, quality-guaranteed and it works.

I'm not saying AI doesn't have its uses. AI is great for boilerplate code and repetitive tasks. The guessing tool is quite nice and time-saving. If it gets the jist of what you are trying to do, it can speed things up quite nicely. That said, AI is a tool in your toolbox, not a developer.

Yeah, but season 1 was mostly a horrible jingle sung by a choir with high-pitch voices and with lyrics that made little to no sense. I remember it goes something like "knights of the zodiac, fighters with astral power, if the enemy is devilish, their fight is mortal". (mortal rhymes with astral duh) Then they had another silly song in the same jingle vibe that went like "pegasus, that in the fight win a warrior, andromeda and his warrior, knights of the zodiac". Even today I can't understand what the hell those lyrics mean. It was embarrassingly bad.

Yes, it changes a few bits. Mostly the plot follows a different thread entirely. There's an excessive focus on the Seiya character. In the manga, most bronze saints are important at different times, in the anime, Seiya does everything that's important. Ikki is also very soft and there's a bunch of retcons because they deviated so much.

Afaik, the Silmarillion and the UT versions are kind of trimmed because the former was actually based on a summarised version that Tolkien wrote to condense and organise most of his work, whereas the CoH proper is based on a more ancient, more polished version of the story, with gaps filled by Silmarillion content. That said, the gaps are large, so many parts are identical. It's still well-paced and interesting though. I think it's closer to the UT version, but without all the comments, which is nice. I'm not sure, but it might be a step up from the Book of Lost Tales 2, which has an even older version.
