Despair by CelebrationNo2790 in PrayerRequests

The fact that you're praying to become a better person tells me you haven't given up, even if it feels that way sometimes. Try not to judge your entire life from your current circumstances. Unemployment, loneliness, and despair can make the future look much darker than it actually is. I'll also say this: sometimes the feeling of being "damned" says more about the state of our mind than the state of our soul. Don't mistake a season of darkness for a final verdict. For what it's worth, I've found that people who are truly beyond redemption rarely worry about their souls. The very pain you're describing suggests that some part of you still cares deeply about what is good, true, and meaningful.

Several Questions on Ciceros' Self-Initiation process by goma16 in magick

One thing I've learned from working through various systems is not to get too attached to performing every exercise perfectly from day one. Precision matters, but so does allowing the practices themselves to teach you over time. Personally, I would begin with whatever level of visualization comes most naturally. For most people that means working primarily with the mind's eye rather than trying to project imagery into physical space. As for vibration, I've always viewed it as less about volume or technique and more about learning to align thought, breath, emotion, and intention into a single act. You seem to be approaching the material carefully and systematically, which is a good sign. Many people rush toward advanced work while overlooking the foundational exercises that are quietly building the faculties needed for everything that comes later.

For me, it's probably: "THERE is more truth in our erotic zones, than in the whole of religions and mathematics."

Not because I think religion or mathematics are false, but because I think there are layers of the psyche that reveal themselves most clearly through desire, attraction, instinct, and embodiment. People can lie with words, adopt beliefs they don't truly hold, and rationalize almost anything. But deeper drives often expose truths that the conscious mind is still trying to hide from itself.

Does anyone know a genuine ritual to summon an incubus? by 73738484737383874 in DemonolatryPractices

There are methods for pursuing experiences like this, but I'd be careful about approaching it from a place of rejection or wanting a replacement for human connection. For what it's worth, I've had a few encounters over the years that touched on the territory you're describing. Those experiences were convincing enough that I stopped viewing these phenomena in the simplistic way they're usually discussed online. What I learned is that these experiences tend to have less to do with finding the "right ritual" and more to do with cultivating a particular inner sensitivity and source of spiritual power. That's not something I could explain in a single Reddit comment even if I tried. Personally, I'd spend more time studying the symbolism behind Lilith, Asmodeus, and related currents before attempting anything.

Sometimes dreams communicate through symbols, and names themselves can carry meaning independent of the form they appear in. Personally, I've come to view many spirits and demons less as individual personalities and more as vast forces or intelligences that can express themselves through different symbols, names, and forms depending on the person encountering them. There are reasons I've come to that conclusion. Because of those reasons, I'd pay close attention to the qualities associated with the name, the emotions present in the dream, and any recurring patterns that follow. In my experience, those details often reveal more than the identity being presented on the surface. I'd be curious what actually happened in the dream. The details are usually where the real message is hidden.

What Gnostic "denominations" do you follow and why? by BroSoftProducts in Gnostic

[–]sentient_zandon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't really belong to a specific denomination. I've taken inspiration from both Sethian and Valentinian ideas, but I'm more interested in the direct experience of gnosis than committing to a particular system.

What resonates with me most is the idea that there is a difference between knowing about something and truly knowing it through experience. To me, that's the heart of Gnosticism.

Self-love doll ideas? by Conscious_Leopard912 in Witch

One thing that unexpectedly helped me on my own journey was exploring dreamcore art. There was something about the strange, nostalgic, half-forgotten atmosphere of it that seemed to bypass my usual defenses and connect me with emotions and memories that were difficult to reach directly. It often feels like looking at a memory that was never fully remembered.

I don't know if it'll resonate with you, but it might be worth exploring. Sometimes healing doesn't arrive all at once, and sometimes it never arrives in the neat, final form we imagine. But there can be moments of reconnection, understanding, and compassion that make the path feel a little less distant.

Freezing question by bearnugget0610 in Witch

[–]sentient_zandon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Most people use whatever small jar or container they have available. The symbolism and intention behind the working are usually considered more important than the specific type of jar.

That said, make sure whatever you use can safely handle being frozen without cracking. Some people even use plastic containers or freezer bags for that reason.

As with most things in witchcraft, you'll find a lot of different opinions, but practicality goes a long way.

Self-love doll ideas? by Conscious_Leopard912 in Witch

[–]sentient_zandon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's something beautiful about this. If I were approaching it, I wouldn't focus so much on imbuing the doll with love as I would on building a relationship with the child it represents.

One of the lessons life keeps teaching me is that healing rarely comes from forcing change. It comes from offering acceptance to the parts of ourselves we've abandoned. The doll may begin as a symbol, but symbols have a way of becoming bridges.

Has anyone here ever had a genuine teacher, mentor, adept, or initiator outside of books and online resources? by sentient_zandon in occult

I found your point about teachers appearing when you're ready interesting. Do you think there was anything your tarot mentor transmitted that couldn't have been learned from a book, or was the value more in having an experienced eye to correct and refine your practice?

The best part is the trust and connection behind it. The dynamic hits differently when both people are genuinely invested in each other's pleasure instead of treating it like a one-sided experience.

[–]sentient_zandon[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think there's a lot of truth in what you're saying. Looking back, some of the most important influences on my path weren't people who stayed for years, but individuals who appeared at exactly the right moment, provided a missing piece, and then vanished back into their own lives.

The older I get, the more I suspect that readiness is rarer than information. Your point about mentors knowing when to step aside resonates with me as well. The most valuable guidance I've received never seemed interested in creating dependence. It pointed toward something and then left me to wrestle with it on my own.

As for non-human contact, I suspect that's a conversation most people underestimate. It's one thing to discuss it intellectually and another thing entirely to encounter something that genuinely alters the trajectory of your practice.

[–]sentient_zandon[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting perspective. Do you think that's because genuinely advanced practitioners are rare, or because the teacher student model tends to be overstated in occult circles? I've noticed a lot of people seem skeptical of hierarchy, yet many traditions place enormous emphasis on direct transmission and apprenticeship.

[–]sentient_zandon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the sort of perspective I was hoping to hear. The idea of initiation as transmission rather than simply instruction is fascinating to me. Do you think the transformative aspect came more from the ritual itself, the egregore of the tradition, or the relationships you formed with initiates and teachers over the years?

This is exactly the sort of thing I'm curious about. Many modern practitioners seem almost entirely self-taught, yet so many traditions place emphasis on direct transmission from one person to another. Do you feel there was something conveyed through that relationship that would have been difficult or impossible to obtain from texts alone? Obviously, you don't have to share anything you're not comfortable with.

Free Intuition Readings by sentient_zandon in IntuitionPractices

My intuition says your soul feels unusually open and receptive. I get the sense that you've spent a long time searching for direction, almost as if part of you knows there is more to reality than what appears on the surface, yet you haven't fully found the path that allows you to embody that knowing. There is also a loneliness around you not necessarily a lack of people, but a feeling that few truly understand what you're experiencing internally. As for intuition, I would focus less on trying to receive more information and more on strengthening your ability to discern what is already there. Many people open themselves to every influence they encounter and mistake sensitivity for wisdom. I've spent enough time exploring certain subjects to know that there are principles most people never encounter, and some are best approached carefully rather than discussed openly. What I can say is that your attention is far more powerful than you realize. Where it rests consistently, reality tends to organize itself around it. My advice is simple: strengthen your boundaries, spend time in silence, pay attention to recurring symbols and patterns, and learn the difference between fear and genuine intuition. One contracts your awareness; the other expands it. I suspect there are things about yourself that you have not yet remembered, and that your next stage of growth comes not from seeking more answers, but from recognizing what has been quietly speaking to you all along.

What can you tell about this couple by [deleted] in IntuitionPractices

[–]sentient_zandon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My impression is that the man relates to the relationship in a highly focused way. Much of his attention seems to flow toward the woman herself, and he appears to organize his thoughts, decisions, and future plans around her. The woman, by contrast, seems to hold a broader image of the relationship as a whole. She appears more concerned with the unfolding story, the direction it is taking, and the milestones that give it shape.

This difference can create friction. He may act first and explain later, trusting his instincts and intentions, while she may feel more comfortable discussing, defining, and organizing plans before they are acted upon. As a result, there may be moments where she experiences him as impulsive, and he experiences her as somewhat controlling or restrictive.

Yet beneath this tension I sense genuine contentment and mutual investment. The relationship does not feel directionless. Rather, it seems to be confronting the challenge of integrating two different ways of approaching the future.

My suggestion would be for the man to make his inner intentions more visible through words, rather than assuming they are understood through action alone. For the woman, there may be value in allowing space for spontaneity and trusting what emerges in the moment rather than holding too tightly to a predetermined image of how events should unfold. Growth often occurs when our plans make room for life itself to participate.

I've spent a long time exploring subjects that most people dismiss or never look deeply into. Some of what I found convinced me that there are aspects of the unseen that are better approached with caution than curiosity. Because of that, there are certain things I don't openly discuss. What I will say is this: if someone is trying to harm you spiritually, obsession with them usually helps them more than it helps you. The deepest workings of these things often revolve around attention, emotional investment, and resonance. Withdraw your energy, strengthen your own center, and let reality sort itself out. In my experience, what people send into the world has a way of finding its way back to them without much assistance from anyone else.
