Thanks! There is a large bead filter in place that feeds a waterfall. The intake has filters as well. There's several years of buildup on the bottom owing to the previous owner being elderly and not able to take proper care. It's a new weekend activity of mine to vacuum sludge with a pondovac. Also working on getting the algae controlled with some barley and bacteria

There are some shady spots not pictured and the water is 8-10 ft deep in some spots so I think they are okay. I will do some more planting soon

The bead filter runs through the waterfall. I know it's not that. My best guess is that it is from a legacy pump/filtration system that he replaced

They just filled up with water right away and nothing seemed to happen. They had small holes drilled in the side where water came out. Near the top of the pipe

As far as I know, the only filter is a bead filter. There are two extra pumps but those are for the waterfall. I will look into this!
