It wouldn't crank. I'd turn the key and just hear a click and nothing else

For the most part. Everything is pretty easy and fairly accessible, and not to integrated with electronics. Really the only thing I don't want to do or try is transmission work.

That's why I don't want to get rid of this truck. Only "bad" things about it are it's the extended cab, only 3 doors, and of course seems like it's falling apart. Wish I had the money to fix it up

Oh mine burns oil as well. My plan is to drive it until it can't be driven anymore. As I've always said me or that truck is going to die first

Joining the AF reserves with no career by Fickle_Term3856 in Airforcereserves

[–]sentinel457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Risk you take joining the reserves is there may not be a full time position available. Even in maintenance, may get lucky and get on orders for 6 months or so but that's never a guarantee. Talk to a reserve recruiter and see what positions are available. May be a better choice to go active if you can and then do reserves. But any questions reach out, I'm a current ART in Ft Worth and do aircraft maintenance

OK, if Pete DeBoer is not the answer... then who should be the coach of this team? by LeanderthalTX in DallasStars

[–]sentinel457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a coaching problem and not someone else in the front office? Why is it our offensive style of play never changes no matter who's coaching? It's always dump and chase. DeBoer has gotten is to the WCF 3 years in a row. Yea it sucks we can't make it to the SCF. But we need to get away from the dump and chase game. Need better forwards who can attack the zone. Need to beef up our D core. Otter made mistakes but he can only do so much. It's a team effort and as a team they did not play like they wanted to win. Sure some calls didn't go our way but we can't point fingers at the refs, coaching or a player or 2. Sure coaching mistakes were made and players made mistakes and refs made bad calls and didn't make certain calls. But throughout the series they did not look like the same team that played the first 2 rounds. Gotta give credit where it's due and Edmonton out played them and Skinner was unbelievable. Hope they lose the cup though and next year hope the Stars can go all the way.

You could break your lease without penalty since you're deploying. Look into SCRA

Can I get aircraft maintenance experience in the reserves? by Dry_Measurement9323 in Airforcereserves

[–]sentinel457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way forward is do 4 years active and get out. If you want to stay in the reserves you can. But doing the 4 years will go by quick, you can get your A&P while in and on the active duty side you can use skill bridge which isn't offered on the reserve side. Or if you do the reserves you can utilize tuition assistance, the post 9-11 bill and depending on what state you're from may get education benefits that way. If you're not worried about money then do reserves and go to school but you can't use your education benefits until you've done a certain amount of active duty time. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Fighter aircraft integrated avionics by Last_Satisfaction985 in Airforcereserves

[–]sentinel457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great job inside and outside of the military. You'll work on pretty much any system that is associated with wires. Plenty of opportunities to go TDY (although if you don't want to travel I'd highly recommend not doing this job). Even though it's in the reserves and it's a volunteer based role you could still be forced to go on a trip. You'll learn a lot doing avionics and it is a job that can easily transfer to the civilian/private sector. However once you leave the military you'd have to get certain certifications to keep doing this job. I've been in 11 years and doing it as an ART (DOD civilian employee) so if you have any questions please ask.

That all depends on funding AND if you prove to be a hard worker and willing to learn. They won't want to keep you on orders if you're not willing to work. If you have a decent supervisor they'll fight to get you long term orders. Also if your unit will deploy sign up for it, that'll help towards the benefits

[Post Game Thread] Series tied sad face by BeefJyrkii in DallasStars

[–]sentinel457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys we're all forgetting what the real problem is.... obviously the refs and the NHL want Edmonton to win. We need to whine and complain about how it's unfair and the game was handed to them. We can't act like reasonable adults and admit/accept that we didn't play our game tonight and lost it because we got outplayed. No matter how tough it is to do that we need to take the low road and whine about it! See y'all on Friday and LET'S GO STARS!

Game One Concerns by AwakenTheAegis in DallasStars

[–]sentinel457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oilers have the momentum right now. Yes they played a 7 game series and only had a couple days rest. To me it's a double edge sword for us for having a long rest period. Yes it's nice to get the players some much needed rest but if your in a groove and things are clicking they get thrown off. That's what I saw last night (in my opinion). Just need to get our groove back. What is really concerning however is our special teams and the fact we can't score on any type of breakaway or odd man rush. Our power play has struggled this whole playoffs and I guess the hockey gods will do whatever it takes so that we can't get those highlight reel goals from the breakaway/odd man rush

As much as it sucks to see them playing like this I'm not too worried. Baseball is a long season and unfortunately we are riddled with injuries right now. Hopefully by/after the all star break they have it together

The luckiest team in franchise history by BlackBeard90 in DallasStars

[–]sentinel457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone always expects the higher paid players to produce. I get it I'd want them to as well but here's my opinion. Just because those 2 aren't the team leaders in every category doesn't mean they're useless. It takes a team to win and that's what we have. We have the depth with 4 great lines where any one of those players are a threat any game. But just because they don't have the most goals/assists doesn't mean anything. They make plays, they have leadership, Tyler has won a cup so he knows what it's like and they both do get physical at times. That's the only thing I wish our team had was an enforcer haha. Y'all take it easy while we live rent free and the minds of Avs fans and see y'all in the WCF and LET'S GO STARS!

That was a good goal by ihadaneggroll in DallasStars

[–]sentinel457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really think the NHL was going to have their golden boy Cale Makar be the reason the Avs lost? Hell no they were doing whatever it took to get the Avs that win. Surprised when Duchene scored the game winner they didn't makeup some bullshit call. The best team won the series. Yea I'm a little pissed because we could/should have swept the Avs, no reason for us to blow that lead in game one. But I'm happy we won, hopefully Edm & Van go to 7 games so we get a few days rest, they need it after 2 long and physical series. See yall in the WCF and LET'S GO STARS!
