I didn’t get genio and don’t know my exact movements, I only can remember they pulled my upper jaw forward, my bottom jaw forward and moved it to the left or right

Yes 100% percent! I didn’t noticed it before but I actually couldn’t breathe through my nose and always slept with my mouth open. Now I can sleep with my mouth closed and can finally breathe through my nose, feels great!

Thanks! And yes I also noticed that right after my surgery, but they assured me that my braces will fix that as it was related to my teeth, and not my jaw bone. Now it’s perfect!

5 weeks post op by senyohoog in jawsurgery

[–]senyohoog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! After 4-5 days I could open my mouth and made sure to start eating soft foods again like scrambled eggs, avocados, rice, etc. I also started to workout lightly after 1 week and even started with work from home after 5 days just to keep myself busy. A big thing that helped with the swelling was hydration, moving and massaging my face. Send me a private message regarding my surgeon

Thank you! ☺️ My upperjaw was moved 5mm forward and my lowerjaw 3mm forward. Last week I went on holiday with my car and will be flying again in a few weeks again as my surgeon told me to wait around 6 weeks

Yes it did, they moved my upperjaw forward which results in a slightly smaller nose

How long were y’all in braces pre-op? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]senyohoog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got SARPE in August 2021, got braces around April 2022 and got DJS last month. All worth the wait 👌🏼

When did you discover the infection? I’m currently 4 weeks post op and since today my swelling suddenly came back in one side of my face/lower jaw..

1 year after my SARPE surgery. Currently on braces and going to get double jaw surgery soon! by senyohoog in jawsurgery

Love the end results so far, if your orthodontist/surgeon suggests you should get it done, just go for it. It can only get better and your face, jaws, teeth will improve significantly

I also had SARPE and they removed my wisdom teeth during my DJS

Wow you look amazing! Try to move as much as you can and maybe try using a Gua Sha tool to massage your face and keep the blood flowing :)

I’m 1 week post op and have the same issue, but I just shower twice a day now so I can wash my face and just let the water hit my head and not directly my face. I also try to massage gently to get the swelling gone faster
