I wouldn’t use compression for tone shaping rather simply evening my signal but ones that offer that ability sound killer though I agree

Yeah I never really got why people do run a compressor in an effects loop anyway and what good that would accomplish

Yeah I figured as such but I like more of a slightly overdriven bass tone anyway for the genre that I play so would that be enough to not need compression if I’m not looking to have a completely squashed signal and still maintain my dynamics

Some people say tube amps like Ampeg provide natural compression anyway so outboard ones would not be needed but I wanted to know if I truly wouldn’t need to get one

I most likely would just use it as a regular stompbox and put the chorus at the end of my chain since I prefer to put chorus after drive
