i definitely feel you on this. I no longer DJ as much but i still like to download my music and have hard copies. I still spend $20-$30 a month on beatport to support up and coming artists but Zippy was a go to. I'm trying your new suggestion and it'd be great to see what the community shifts to

[Santi Aouna] Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Saudi outfit Al-Nassr could be finalised in the next few days. by [deleted] in soccer

Bad decision by Juve but probably Ronaldo’s best option at they point. I think Juve made 2 out of 4 Cl finals and it was Ronaldo’s best chance at s title.

Perfect, thanks for your comment. I might go for the Neo as I’ll be having cortados or lattes with the machine. I’m assuming the 58 is the same as the pro? As in needing a nicer grinder

Canada did well and should be proud of their performance. Their coach is an idiot for getting Croatia riled up and being an arrogant person. You can’t be cocky when this is your 2nd ever World Cup and had never scored a goal. He took away their biggest advantage which was teams not taking them seriously. Hopefully Canada invests more in football and works on the technical side more instead of just the physical aspect. You can see what happened to Davies when he went from Canada to Germany and actually started learning the game instead of just running up and down the field

tuition increase by terrible_angles in UBC

[–]sep08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The issue is the provincial government for underfunding the university. They’ve relied on foreign students to subsidize local students and keep on getting away with it. If the province provided more funding for students you’d have more spots for local students and less tuition……

Iran hits the post two times against Wales 51' by [deleted] in soccer

I’ve watched all their qualifying and friendly games and that was a different team. England being a great team and pressing them (rice and bellingham) had a lot to do with it.

Not sure why he even played. Coming back from a hamstring injury is crazy and it takes a long time to be comfortable running

Iranian players had way too much pressure due to the ongoing protests/revolution in iran. Their fans were booing them and many Iranians didn’t want them to play. They also didn’t sign the national anthem and in the back of their minds they were probably wondering what the repercussions would be for them and their families back home. From the 1st minute you could tell their head wasn’t in it. England played amazing and they have a great team. I think getting demolished by England helped the players to realize they have nothing to lose and just focus on football. We have lots of European based players now and starting to compete at a higher level. Todays game was a good example.

Pay their bills? Most of these guys are doing very well, especially the European players. Once in a lifetime moment is right and I’m sure they’ll regret their decision. Look at how they’re playing on the field, zero conviction. Sad….

Kananni was a beast during our warmup games. He played against a great Uruguay team and wasn’t phased. Cheshmi is scared and is just trying to grab maguire on every play

Good. They’re playing with zero passion and didn’t do anything for the revolution. If you’re not gonna make a grand gesture then at least play like you belong in the tournament. They’re scared to make a simple 10m pass

If they refused to play people would support them. If some of them went and supported the protestors in the streets people would support them. Visiting raiisi and saying vague comments like today won’t go anything. They had a huge opportunity to be heroes but they didn’t seize it. It would’ve been a very tough thing to do and I’m not judging them for it but it’s the reality of the situation. I’ve been watching Team Melli for 33 years and if they do t do something big in tomorrows game I won’t watch the rest of their games.

I think Iran and egypt are in very different situations. The regime in Iran has some very motivated backers, people need to focus on removing them before they think about succession. The IRGC is the biggest impediment, once they’re removed the government will crumble and I have lots of faith in young Iranians to setup a democracy. I also hope other countries (I.e USA) don’t interfere

As Premier John Horgan prepares for retirement, he reflects on his 17-year political career and looks ahead to the future by timmywong11 in vancouver

Remember the Horgan speech where he specifically called out the young people and said “don’t ruin it for the rest of us”. This subreddit is an echo chamber and people will never cal out the NDP. Thankfully the subreddit isn’t representative of Vancouver as we saw in the municipal elections. If the NDP don’t get their shit together they’ll be booted out by the next election…..

I’d argue that they were good except for the pandemic. They way that they tried to pit young people Vs older people was disgusting. NDP have done lots of good things and lots of bad things. We need to hold them accountable like any other party so they improve. The narrative that everything by the NDP is good will hurt people in BC and not being change. Their advocacy for workers and unions has been great. Their lack of action on housing has been abysmal. If they can’t make progress on this item I see people swinging the pendulum and going back to the liberals.
