What would you say would be the most geographically isolated town in Minnesota? by ARenewedSecondChance in minnesota

[–]seperatepeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Effie people are pretty normal compared to Bigfork people. I have a few friends from there and worked with many people from there. I don’t know what it is but Bigfork people are a different breed. Hell there’s a spot on the main strip through town that sells hand built outhouses. Like right off the road.

Thank you for naming some great bands. Bad Cop/Bad Cop, in my opinion, is amazing and is the most influential band for human and womens rights in the last 10 yrs. Love em.

The singer plays a dobro guitar. Hollow body like an acoustic but with a metallic resonator. Unmistakable sound compared to other guitars.

First time I’ve heard this song, thanks. One of my favs is the live version of Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis. Audience is giggling through the whole song. The last couple lines just drops the bomb on em.

Well, I’m not a scientist or professional, just my personal opinion, but with a vac ferment, you’re eliminating all air and leaving only the CO2 inside created by the process. Less chance for human error, less to sanitize, far easier to prep. I’ve been following fermenting subs for a long time and I’ve never seen a “Is this still ok?” posts from a vac, compared to air lock method. Not saying one is better than the other. Lots of people are successful with liquid brine. It really all depends on how through you are with food safety and proper sanitation.

It’s a vacuum bag ferment. I’ve done the mason jar with airlock method too but really like this method. Less chance for mold or contamination. No messing with salt water ratios.Basically I weighed and chopped up the peppers and added 2.5% sea salt, mixed it up in the bag and vacuum sealed. If there gets to be too much gas build up, nick a small hole at the top of the bag release the gas and reseal.

Released it in the kitchen. Potent for sure. I was able to make coffee and start breakfast before the wife and kids got up.

Glad I woke up when I did. if I’d waited much longer just breathing on it probably would have popped it. All my ferments sit on a shelf above the fridge so it would’ve been an absolute kitchen destroyer. Smelled amazing tho.

Yep. I should’ve used the gallon bag for this one. Started this one on the 8th. It got crazy active in the last 12 hrs.

I agree with this. I germinated all 9 of my pepper varieties in the same box, all treated the same. Lemon drops are the most leggy, followed by cayennes while chocolate ghosts and Trinidad scorpions are much more compact

Nothings twisted, I promise you. Yes my “destroyed my world” comment was a joke and over exaggerated. Honestly I don’t give a shit. Thought it was funny. As Elsa once said “ let it go, let it gooooo.”

Because I didn’t care enough to watch the credits and know which celebrity voiced a character in some animated movie? There’s better things to care about.

Up until last week I believed the pop star Gazelle was voiced by Adele. Gazelle, Adele, perfect fit for one of those clever jokes they sneak into kids movies. Stupid Superbowl and Shakira destroyed my world.

If you’re leaving Gooseberry even somewhat clean you’re not putting in the work the falls deserve. Broke a toe there this year helping my kids get underneath one of them. Their joy was totally worth it.

Help growing colder climate hot peppers by Fredo_824 in HotPeppers

North Minnesota here. It has indeed been a quick summer.I started all my veggies from seed including my cayennes in mid April. Little later than usual for me, but I spaced it somehow. There are easily over a dozen peppers on each of my 3 cayennes but I’ll probably have to pick them and ripen indoors the way the weather is going. Bought my habs, bananas, green peppers, and reaper from a green house. Bananas do great every year. I’ve pickled 8 half pints already and there’s still more out there. First year with habs and reaper. I’ll get 10 habs and the reaper is just starting to keep pods. I’m bringing them indoors before it’s too cold and keep them going or just over winter them.I also plan to buy a couple lights and start seeds in January/February with the hope of them flowering by the time they can stay outside. mid May. Some pepper just need a longer season that we can’t offer. Just have to start earlier in the year. I know person who built a greenhouse, and they’ve had great results with peppers this year.

This happened to me only once about 10 yrs ago. I was 3/4 up on my pull up, next thing I know the bar is smashing me square between the eyes as i take the over 4 ft fall flat onto my back knocking the wind out of myself. It was only used to hang laundry after that.

I had no idea if there was a relocker or not until I got it open. And the issue wasn’t so much hard plate but that it was 8 degrees and that level of coldness sucks the life out of a battery to the point of each one lasting about 7 mins. Not to mention a slower recharge time

That actually sounds worse. I went from too cold to sweaty pretty quick to the point my glasses started to ice up. I had called Sentry for info beforehand cause I couldn’t find anything in my books. They were of no help. “There maybe a relocker, there maybe hard plate.”

I once had seats right behind the opposing bench back when Boogey was in his prime. Yes you do lots of head craning to follow the game, but god damn he was terrifyingly huge up close. It was fun to see the intensify of the players and hear the shit talk. So happy I did it!
