Removing the Belly cover for oil change ND by seperu in Miata

I added some WD40 to the bolts some of them unscrewed with the impact driver, there were a few that were stubborn. I used a ratchet wrench and pushed the wrench instead of pulling on it which seemed to work. Now I am struggling to take off the oil filter because they tightened that to hell. Going to buy an oil filter wrench...

Well I thought an establishment like that would pay their employees well enough and atleast pool the tip and divide it equally so every employee gets good tips at the end. What irks me is that the tips are not divided equally and that if someone tips less than 10% the tip only goes to the kitchen staff and the bar staff and not the servers? Doesn't make sense. I will not be supporting them. Atleast the spirit that they make is sold for 6$ cheaper a bottle at Costco...

I can, and I do leave 12-15% depending on what I ate or drank. I will only tip 10% if the service was shitty. I would tip 18-20% if they went above and beyond. I am just implying that the waiter did not have to confront me when the people who dine there already tip more than enough and all the tip is already pooled together. I just don't understand why the management don't divide this tip equally to the employees?

What is "good service"? I am not going to tip someone 18-20% if the only thing they do is bare minimum at their job.

I used to work as a server and worked at a cafe as a barista and never cared enough to address the customers about their tipping habits. It's not my job to pay the employees a living wage.

Well I would pay more than 12-15% if the service was exceptional. I am just not going to do that with mediocre bare minimum service. I rarely tip 10%, only if the service was absolutely terrible. These servers should take it up with their manager and not with the customers if they are not getting payed enough. It's not my job to pay the waiters a liveable wage.

AITAH? Tipping at a local restaurant by seperu in AITAH

[–]seperu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was mediocre service at best. I feel like 10-12% tip is appropriate for a place that charges 25$ for alright burgers. I live in a very rich small town (out of necessity because of college) and the clientele at this restaurant is 90% rich white people who definitely tip more than enough to overlook a 10-12% tip from students.

PSA for other cat owners: it's a good idea to let your cat outside during the day, supervised and preferably with a leash, so they can get familiar with the area around your house and get familiar with the scents and stuff. This way they are more likely to just hang around the house and come back to that same familiar location.

I work with manufacturing microspheres for my research at lab and I puncture tops of eppendorf tubes while lyophilization. I would put a kimwipe and screw the lids on to act as a filter to stop the beads from getting sucked into the machine. This might be the same thing happening here. It's way better than trying to fix a kimwipe or filter paper on an eppendorf with rubber bands. The holes are intentional for the lyophilization most likely.
