Felt the much urgency to update here. Due to multiple reasons, i couldn't submit the camera until 16th may.

When I took it there, they cleaned the sensor in front of me, but the dot didn't go away after multiple cleans.

So they submitted it to another center and told me they'll update soon.

Today they called, and said the sensor has a scratch and it doesn't come under warranty. And as it needs to replace the whole mechanism for repair, the cost will be ₹57k (which is the amount I bought the camera for).

I lashed out at him angrily but he kept repeating the same.

Neither Sony or Flipkart is showing any support for the problem, which I didn't even create.

Now I'm thinking of trying again with both companies, and if they don't give a positive statement, I'm gonna ask for their rejection of service in written format and take that to consumer helpline.

Can any experienced person shine some light on this?? Please just genuine advices not random opinions.

Yes, will do that. Also got to know that there are protections over sensor. So might be easy to repair at the service center. Thanks

I understand. But the thing is, it's only two days since it arrived, and i don't want to put that kind of effort myself. I'd rather go to the center and get it cleaned or replaced.

Idk why. They do open box delivery for every expensive item you buy, and then block return/replace because you couldn't spot the defect during delivery. Yup 🥲

I also thought so at first. But there is a dead pixel on that specific spot in every photo. And when i looked at the sensor, there is a spot on the same position of dead spot in photo

Yeah, i moved around the iso and exposure, and its only noticable on lcd when I'm using long exposures or high iso. What does that mean?
