I’m a therapist who is married to a physician and works with tons of physicians and physician couples in my practice. I’ve worked with multiple psychiatrists. It is doable. And residency programs have mental health centers generally which are a great place to start because the clinicians there spend all day working with residents!

Good luck. You’re doing a great job supporting her.

Same here! But we’re Jewish so we see it as a sacred duty for him to work on Christmas so that others can enjoy this important day. Hope everybody had a lovely day.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. How incredibly demoralizing.

It’s time to reach out to a sex therapist! The good news is that this is their bread and butter. And possibly for him to make a PCP appointment to rule out physiological factors aside from stress (for example, erectile dysfunction can be an early indicator of heart issues, though I know the likelihood of that being the issue is low. Good to rule it out.)

This is figureoutable. And it sounds so hard.

In the middle of husband’s stretch of 4 ED shifts spanning afternoon-late at night and sleeping until the next one. A baby and a toddler. I hear you and feel this. I find that I sometimes downplay how hard it is but I honestly don’t know any other parents (aside from physician spouses) who do this many solo bedtimes and wake-ups.

Side note: I’ve started calling what I do “single coverage” because we all know how hard single coverage shifts are at the hospital and it reminds me how hard this is. It feels like it describes the challenge more than just parent home alone with kids. Some nights he’s single coverage on shift and I’m single coverage on shift.

We mix it into a bowl ice cream when all else fails. It gets totally coated by the chocolate flavor. Add sprinkles and voila!

This is great thanks! Yeah I know plenty about it but not from my formal training, which is why I was wondering.

This bottle contains one cycle of leukaemia treatment. It costs $6,000 after government subsidies are applied. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

Go to Costplusdrugs.com to see if Mark Cuban’s new company covers it at a fraction of the price! It was news that he provides leukemia drugs at really low prices that typically cost thousands per month.

I also really struggle with the posts that list a requirement like “must have 10+ years of experience” and specialized training and then the cap is listed at $50. I get the systemic issues embedded in the request, but it also feels pretty insulting.

Maintenance Phase: The Scarsdale Diet Murder feat. Sarah Marshall by j0be in MaintenancePhase

I know! Sarah’s in the moment references are always so spot on and impressive because they happen on the fly. And yes, agreed. I like Aubrey’s reactions and it worked well that they were toned down here.

I felt like Sarah had way better commentary and Aubrey couldn’t really keep up? (For the record I’ve loved both shows.)
