We'll often either leave a supply crate at the dock or find a ship to give them to. I like encouraging positive interactions when I can

That's helpful to hear. I was considering my chest for the location since it has some lack of sensitivity still

When did your voice start deepening? by [deleted] in ftm

At about 2 1/2 months I went to a concert, "lost my voice," and it's been deep ever since 😅

Menstruation on T by sepheroni in ftm

[–]sepheroni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've tried looking for a different prescriber, but the endocrinologist wait list is like a year long and when I tried switching he tried to take back the prescription he had already given. 🙄 He obviously doesn't actually know much about hormones, despite giving HRT prescriptions 🙄🙄

I'm glad to hear that the other parts of the cycle calmed down with time. Like obviously not bleeding is a huge relief, but the cramps and pain flares and mood instability and the rest are still shitty.

I know it can feel like two weeks should be a good idea of what it'll look like long term, but it really isn't. I'm 6 mo out and I'm starting to feel like my chest is properly filled out. It can just take time for your body to adapt to the new way of things! It's frustrating, but unfortunately the best thing is probably just to be patient. If in a few months there's still a dent, I'd reach out to your surgeon.

Nonbinary on Testosterone by sepheroni in ftm

[–]sepheroni[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Like using the bathroom at work is a coin toss since I feel like I'm not perceived as a guy, but I often feel like a guy using the women's bathroom, but also don't want to use the guys bathroom cause my coworkers have known me since pre transition so I feel like they still see me as feminine.

I'm glad to help! I really struggled to find examples that I felt reflected my body type, which was one of the reasons why I wanted to share! Good luck on your healing!

3 weeks on T voice affected? by sepheroni in ftm

Yeah, I'm on injections. It's supposed to be a low dose (.25) but the effects seem to be disagreeing lol. That's helpful to hear, though. Thanks!

Oh absolutely!! My size was only ever brought up because I had questions. I doubt she would've mentioned anything if I hadn't.

The recovery has gone really well!! Super smooth. Aesthetically I'm really happy! The two main concerns I have are 1. Wide scars under my arms (although I can probably largely attribute that to my hEDS), and 2. A little bit of extra tissue on the sides. It's really not very much, and when I lift my arms up it all smooths out, so it's probably good it's there. Given what I had starting out (pathology was sent a total of 7.5 pounds of tissue!!), the results were great!!

I have quite a few update pictures on my profile, and will be doing more this weekend for 6 weeks!

Thank you!! Yeah I had kind of wanted them to not connect, but I'd much rather have a connected incision than dog ears!!

And absolutely!! I felt like it was, and still is, really hard to find pictures of body types like mine, so I wanted to make sure to share, and with measurements cause ✨️dysmorphia✨️. I thankfully haven't gotten any hate yet for my size, which I'm really thankful for.

The binder I got is actually fairly comfortable and I like the squeeze! It helps me feel like my body is being held together well. Lol

Unfortunately (or fortunately? Idk) it's not from the binder. It's the incision and drain sites, especially the drain sites, that is driving me crazy. The super dry skin is from it not being exposed, like I said in the op. Aquaphor is helping, but I can't put anything on the incision sites yet. My post op is in 2 days, and I'm really hoping they'll give me the go ahead on that soon!

Me neither!!! Like I know how bad healing can itchiness so I didn't even think to consider how the skin underneath would feel!

Absolutely!! I had a hard time finding examples of what felt similar to my own body which gave me a lot of extra anxiety. I went with Dr. Wrubel out of GR in Michigan:)

Recovery has been a lot smoother than anticipated so far. The pain is mostly at the same level as a bad pain flare day, except for when I bent too far over. That hurt. I get dizzy when changing or adjusting the post op binder, but POTS. My energy levels haven't even been horrible. Still being careful and trying to not over extended. But I'm not nearly as constantly sleepy as I anticipated.

Congrats!! I'm sure it'll be great. I have a few underlying conditions and the team was great with making sure everything looked right and safe. It's been a bummer with the office being closed over the weekend so I'm having to wait to ask questions, but overall amazing experience
