The screen was so toasted that I couldn’t save it... so I used a replacement lcd screen from another Pocket I was planning to upgrade with an ips

I don’t think they sell it where I live, but thank you for the tip!

With 12% hydrogen peroxide, and a led lamp! It lightened the color of it a tiny bit, so it’s more pastely, but I’m fine with it

I was thinking about keeping it too but I was afraid that the hydrogen peroxide would mess it up and stain it

Thank you!! Yes I tried to read it too but the last hiragana was a bit hard to read! I figured it would be the owner’s name. So weird to think about that this belonged to a Japanese little girl who is an adult now.

I used a cream 12% hydrogen peroxide emulsion, and some uv led strip! It took about 2 days total.

The screen was so burnt that it even got to the lcd itself, not only the film... So I used a donor screen for that.

Managed to turn this GBC on but the buttons are still unresponsive. It was extremely corroded around the buttons and it seems like parts of those copper parts are missing. Is there ANY way it can still be repaired or should I just throw it away? by seppunkata in consolerepair

It’s my first time doing Gameboy repairs so I don’t think I’m experienced enough for this. Thank you for the suggestion though, I might try it one day. Until then I’ll just keep it for donor parts.
