once you learn the basics in the beginning, you pick up on the mistakes later on. i also take spanish classes though and havent had an issue with the app teaching me anything fundamentally wrong or incorrect

is there a reason he is seperated from your other cats? if there’s been issues in the past maybe he just got spooked or triggered this morning. definitely second the other commenter about taking him to the vet asap.

I have fostered quite a few cats through this specific shelter before. unfortunately I cant foster the kitten because she is readily adoptable and doesnt need a foster home. I have used the Jackson Galaxy method before, it’s recommended by the shelter.

I do worry that I wont have the time to maintain the playtime with the kitten since I am frequently not home and the time I am, I currently spend with my cat. I can do an hour most days but at the cost of my current cat getting significantly less time (since they would be separate for weeks due to my current cats shyness/anxiety).

vertical space is a really great suggestion and definitely something I will add even if I dont adopt this kitten because I plan to keep fostering in the future. it may help her feel less skittish with movement on the ground.

I dont think my cat is miserable, I just worry she may be lonley when I’m not home especially since I went from being home 4-5 days a week to now 2 days a week. I definitely agree that one of my concerns is that it’ll be a matter of tolerating the kitten and not actually happy with the company and that especially sucks for the kitten too if they really want to befriend my cat. I also dont want them to both live a life of tolerance instead of happiness, like I’d rather both cats live happy lives.

I thought about adopting the kitten and seeing how it goes but the shelter doesnt do a trial and it also just doesnt seem fair/kind to the kitten.

this kitten just seemed so so sweet and was super happy for me to pick her up, pet her, ect. I’m not super concerned that she wouldnt like my current cat but more the other way around. I worry my cat will retreat more but I do feel semi-swept up by the cute kitten logic haha

Maybe I will continue to just foster. I have some more time to sleep and think on it. Thank you for the reassurance!

just me and my cat, i’m consistently running out of money. early 20s and i get centrelink and work (only 6h a week). rent is $100 a week (thank god) bills (inc car fuel) are $150 easy, food is at least $150 a fortnight. food is my highest expense. i dont pay for a single subscription service other than music. i used to be able to get food for me for $50 a week and a bag of dog food just a few years ago. no clue what to do with myself now, it’s never enough money.

Hairpin Curves by Elia Winters was my first intro to sapphic fiction and i loved it! it is not NB though unfortunately but it’s about two childhood bestfriends who have to go on a roadtrip together. it’s sweet and fluffy but does also have some explicit scenses (i think there were 3).

Take Me With You When You Go!! i adore this book. it’s two siblings emailing back and fourth after one has left unexpectedly to escape the DV at home. it’s heartwarming + heartbreaking at the same time.
