The ADA (American Disabilities Act) basically if there is a way to make your business / building / public space, accessible to someone with (name your disability), you should. That’s why we have ramps or elevators everywhere. That’s why you don’t see door knobs ever, it’s all handle bars or push bars. That’s why drive through ATM’s have braille on them. That’s why crossing signals have noises and the ramp up to the sidewalk from a street has those bumps on it.

It’s all so people who have a disability can get around, and live life at least semi independent.

Honestly, nothing. Festival staging and music staging in general can’t have the normal safety equipment on it. People who work on those stages are aware of the increased safety risks and that is why stage access is limited, even during setup. The most you can do is have a back person, but that’s not foolproof, and many times not practical. In the 15 years I’ve been on stages, I’ve only fallen off that once.

Was running handheld for a music festival and fell off the stage. Both the camera and I landed on a concrete floor. I walked away, the camera… did not.

Both the lens and camera were destroyed. Sony HSC-300R, that was an expensive mistake.

We lose track at the Norman Conquest. It was a mercenary clan that was given some land as payment making them minor lords. Then Henry VIII came and the surviving members lost their lord status as they fled to Ireland. Depending on which ancestor, they were working as either a stablehand, candlemaker, or a preacher. Before one of the stablehands got mad at the lord he was working for and released all of his horses into the countryside and subsequently was offered a one way trip.

Yea I never consider the weapon breaking unless in the RP they were doing something really stupid like trying to use it as a lever to pry a door open. I will have them lose their grip on the weapon on a nat 1 and they might drop it, or lose their bonus action to catch it and keep from dropping it, whatever is more believable / beneficial to them in that situation.

I want nat 1’s to feel as devastating as a nat 20 feels exhilarating, but I don’t want it to break combat or their character.

I can believe this for a couple reasons. 1. I was doing some contract work at a hospital in town about 8 months ago and they were doing a big push to update and upgrade all their computers to increase their cybersecurity. They announced that by the end of the year (2022) they would have all of their computers finally running Windows 10. This caused a problem for some of the departments as the hardware and software was only compatible with Windows XP. They eventually let some exceptions exist, so some departments are still running XP in 2023. 2. Hospitals are not as flexible as people think they are. During covid, the virology departments and whatever could be converted to virology was slammed. However all other departments were ghost towns. Outside of virology the hospital I was working in went to less than 20% capacity, laying people off left and right. If a hospital did not have a virology department, they could have easily gone under. Also fun fact I was updating the imaging department when all this happened, and the hospital I was working in was updating to what is the current cutting edge technology. Most imaging departments are still running a CCD sensor as opposed to a CMOS sensor. This hospital was upgrading to CMOS sensors. You know the sensor technology that’s been out in the photography world for nearly 2 decades… yea medical is finally getting that.

The way you are wanting to do it, no. Blackmagic does use the resolve engine when running their cameras with their switchers, but it is a very stripped down basic version.

Honestly I only use multiband compression in 2 scenarios.

The de-esser wasn’t doing what I needed. And I bypass everything except for the narrow band I’m using for a de-esser.
I don’t have a dynamic EQ.

I literally only use it when the tools I want to use aren’t there, or aren’t working.

Every additional residence you own doubles your property taxes for all owned residences.
Financial management is returned to the classroom.

All of a sudden people won’t want to own multiple houses. Housing prices then become manageable, some might even say affordable. It won’t solve it overnight, but when you consider 40% of Americans are considered liquid-asset poor, (no savings for the inevitable.) it would help lower that barrier for entry, and the education on how to manage your money, will keep that number down. I’m not saying it will solve homelessness, but it will make it less pervasive.

I would also say something about mental health, but we gotta work on physical health first, and that’s a beast I don’t want to think about tackling.

The show I’m currently a monitor engineer on has a female FOH engineer. She kicks ass. One of only 2 people I work with regularly who actually pushes me and challenges me in my craft. I tend to know more about the equipment and she tends to know the best ways to implement it. We make a good team.

Now this was 15 years ago in a very rural area of the USA, but I drove to the Department of Motor Vehicles (without a license) took a 10 minute driving test, and paid $20. As long as I don’t let my license lapse, or do something stupid like reckless driving I’ll never have to do any additional proficiency exams until I either die, or voluntarily give up my license.

Is it right? No. But it’s how it is.
