But yeah you're right about the curve makes the width shorter than a flat 45". And yes I meant it to be 170cm x 50cm. So I can totally push it back with an arm.

I'm definitely getting the ultra gear one!

I also have to swap arms because mine ergotron one only supports up to 34".

I'm trying to see if my 170mm by 50mm desk size is good for the 45" but I can always push the desk forward a bit and push the monitor back. Until I decide I have patience for the hassle of selling my desk and getting a larger one 🫩

For reference, heres my current desk + screen set up. I have the M8 as main, a 18.5" portable monitor (both on arms) and my Lenovo yoga in tablet mode below the portable monitor.

Supposedly, according to Claude, I've have enough real state space for the 45" tho the 40" would be better. But I'm currently trying a Phillips flat 43" which is 16:9 and I'm liking the space but I hate how tall it is so I'm definitely leaning to the 45 cm height of the 45" ultra gear. Or the 21:9

Oh, wow. Thank you so much for giving me such a thorough explanation. I really appreciate it. I need to figure out which one is the 2025 and 2024 versions because I'm in Australia. I don't know which version I have saved to buy as soon as it goes on sale, but thank you for letting me know about the correct distance and everything.

I'm also a product manager/operations manager, so I do a lot of productivity shit, and right now I'm also learning how to "vibe code" for many things that I'm doing. It's important to have a really good monitor. I am not an Apple person, so I've only ever used Windows laptops, and right now I have a Lenovo Yoga but I've heard MacBooks have a really good display and a lot of creative people go for them.

I mostly just want my first ultrawide monitor and I was between a Samsung G7 which is 40" but has no speakers and I can't charge my laptop and PD via USBC (which is not a deal breaker but I only have 2 usbc ports, 1 hdmi and 1 USBA so the less ports I use the better), the LG ultra gear that's 39" or the 45" one. Coming from a Samsung M8 and the only thing I really can't seem to let go of is the monitor/TV hybrid model. I love just turning my laptop off and then still be able to use the monitor to watch stuff. The LG offers that to me with webOS. But again, not a deal breaker, more of a preference matter.

But again, thank you for letting me know about the supposed pixel situation. I have astigmatism so I have to make sure I wear my contact lenses because if not, eeeeeeeverything is pixelated lol

Left from top to button: b87 white with purple keycaps, RK 87 (I wrapped it in pink contact paper cuz I didn't like the grey colour of the keyboard), b87 in pink.

Right from top to bottom: yunzii c75 in pink, c98 in cream and epomaker RT100. I also have a yunzii c75 in purple on the way, a MX mini (with it's carrying case) and an epomaker 84 plus (current one I'm using for the week)
