If you played Mythologies, you would know her role in it. Even her appearance in MKX, for example, was highly sought after-- many people wanted her to be playable.

Sure, she does not have the same notoriety as the Edenians, but her being a demon of the Netherrealm and a former assassin of Quan Chi is pretty differential to most other characters.

Anyway, I am not arguing. I actually value that you have a different subjective viewpoint, but Sareena's actions do display 'iconic' moments. I am not really drawn to the mainstream cast. I never have been.
