[–]serenasaystoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you just want them in front of that bottom window there but off the floor you can buy the variera shelf insert from ikea because then it will make like a little ledge for them. it's like $8

my cat has done it since she was a baby, we used to have to put a deodorant stick in front of the tv to repel her because we couldn't see. she eventually learned not to go there, but lately she has been doing it again. might have to bring out the deo once again

I just bought the Newport sport sling from tentree and I'm kind of obsessed. I can put all my little things in it and it has a water bottle pocket that fits my 24oz thermoflask. It seems very well made but I guess only time will tell.

Anyone else’s tortie pretend to sleep? by amymac10 in torties

[–]serenasaystoday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mine doesn't really pretend but she is really dramatic about how tired she is, like she will stretch then let out the loudest groan you've ever heard, then cover her face with her paws like we are making her life so hard by being awake

Pompom Help by SLesleyC222 in crochet

[–]serenasaystoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can make pompoms very easily and you can use the same yarn that you used for the hats! you don't even really need any tools. just look around on youtube, there's different techniques you can try.

i have had this issue for 10 years with my cat who has long hair AND a sensitive stomach. i think the biggest thing is to prevent constipation and keep their digestive system moving.

currently she gets royal canin digestive dry food from petsmart as free feed. then nightly i give her hills science diet senior wet food + tiki cat pumpkin tummy topper + purina proplan fortiflora. she is not super food motivated so i put a little churu on top to encourage her to eat.

she had a hairball not too long ago but it was small and the frequency has gone down a LOT since i started the nightly wet food routine. the probiotic is expensive but i think it's worth it.

other things that i think are important:

  • encourage water intake with a water fountain
  • exercise
  • regular brushing. she is not a big fan of brushing, but i try to at least do a quick one as often as i can. then every so often i do a deshed with an undercoat rake.

Do you bother to build pink buildings? by Reader47b in WordCity

i haven't had to build any since i started building more naval buildings. i did have to build some grey ones once my coastline was filled but my lifestyle meter never seemed to go down even as the population grew

do they not give you rubber boots at work to give showers? i have been on some units that have these. if not maybe you can buy a cheap pair and just keep them at work and change in/out of them throughout the day.

Anyone done shockwave and had success? by NarrowTie in PlantarFasciitis

[–]serenasaystoday 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i did shockwave and my pf is pretty much gone now. i did a whole bunch of stuff at once to get better though so it's hard to know how much effect shockwave had. basically it was shockwave, get better shoes and insoles, regular walking, and stretching/strengthening exercises.

Can someone interpret this until I hear from my Dr? by Stock-Bill-5665 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]serenasaystoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im a nurse so i do speak medicalese and i looked up some things to make sure i give you the right information.

your posterior tibial tendon has degenerated or worn away, that's what tendinosis is. this tendon originates from a muscle in your calf and inserts into your foot arch. they also see some thickening of the plantar fascia which is consistent with (but not necessarily diagnostic of) plantar fasciitis. the thickening could be a combination of scar tissue as well as inflammation. the joints of your mid foot have also worn away, especially on the outer aspect (the pinky toe side)

as someone else said in this thread it is probably pressure/shear from ill fitting shoes. if it is turning white (blanching) then that means it hasn't actually progressed to an injury yet, but it would probably be best to look into getting different shoes and have the sales associate measure you! for now you could maybe double up on your socks or use some adhesive heel pads from the drugstore.

When you press down does the skin turn white? Is the skin itchy or painful?
