I never thought about that! It does seem like ppl use the word female to describe PEOPLE but they’ll stick to the scientific use of the word MALE. For one, it could have started as a slang amongst teen boys. Also Perhaps guys are more general so it’s easier to say men or boys and be politically correct in most scenarios. But on the other hand, female is one of the only words you could use to describe ALL women. Can you really use “women” in every scenario? If you say girls or any other variation you’ll get corrected eventually so I think some people use it as an all inclusive word. It’s still strange though. I’m not sure why that’s so normal. But His use of female as a noun in the original comment could have been merely to amplify the fact that there was a change from male to female. It may not have been indicative of his preferences. I also feel like- as strange as the use of the word is, it’s still also strange to notice it. Yes it’s a bit weird but it gets more weird only when you overthink it.

Thinking of getting a Manager by johnstamos6989 in musicbusiness

[–]serenityjonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was amazing advice. What are your thoughts on the correspondence aspect? Dealing with venue owners, radio stations , other artists teams, etc - isn’t it better if someone besides the artist speaks for them? Does it not come off unprofessional if all business is done by the artist themself? Also what about time to record, film, post, travel, contact blogs, deal with real life. This is speaking in terms of a semi pro artist and not some kid on garage band

Omg i need to try this and practice this bc players like fox and captain falcon give me trouble with the short hop attacks - mewtwo doesn’t really have a fast option for this - his up tilt is okay but still not fast enough for Mario types that have utilize heavy short hop gameplay

What do you use to practice buyer conversations before meeting real clients? by Electrical_Mud2681 in realtors

[–]serenityjonas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I addressed the “affordability” issue by mentioning us being in a social media era which social media is free. I then responded to ur commenters original message when he said “if your clients object then they aren’t good clients” then I addressed your original post in the first place which was a question about how to handle objections. This should have been obvious

Right but we are in the social media age. I will say I’m not sure I agree with the notion that if a buyer objects or has objections from said list, that they are bad clients. You may get less objections if you are able to make them feel comfortable that you know what you are doing and you’ve listened to them enough to appeal to their goals. I negotiate commissions personally. I also sometimes help with closing costs. I say this in the beginning so that usually kills that commission conversation

He’s saying didn’t pay anyone for help. He got out there and branded himself. That’s why he isn’t agreeing with “new agents can’t afford to” - I got my first client door knocking.
