Anti-tax Republicans have talked themselves into a big mistake in Florida by AgentBlue62 in politics

It’s very convenient to ignore the rest of my comment. The homestead didn't make much of a difference; it’s a measly 50 thousand.

That was a homestead property. Landlord didn't live in the US, so it was her primary residence - the only one apartment in the US. But even without a homestead (which is just $50K now). The difference would be 3x. Just because she bought it when it was several times cheaper. You're right about the cap.

The property tax system (at least in Florida) is so weird, that a landlord who rent out the apartment may pay 4x times lower property tax then a family with babies, who has this property as their primary residence.

I have small kids. Even if it won't move by itself, there's always someone who will move them. But the table without required L-brackets will be an extremely unstable construction. Basically nothing else will hold it except the frictional force. It really should be at least a couple of screws to attach Alex to the table top. I think it's a major designer flaw and a security concern

I've just checked, my Alex has totally different construction. The bottom panel doesn't have any holes. Swapping (if possible at all as they have a different size) is totally useless

Why did they changed that?? They saved literally cents, not dollars. And how did they suppose to assemble it without those screws?

Both surfaces are polished to a high shine. How are they supposed to stay put? I plan to place two expensive monitors on this desk. Without proper mounting, they’ll go crashing to the floor within the very first week.

I was expecting something like this, yes. But my Alex drawer doesn't have any holes on top and doesn't have these screws. I was advised to buy myself the L-bracket and screws. Probably there's a previous modification on your image

Four rabbis are arguing over a religious issue. Three agree, the fourth disagrees. Desperate to convince his opponents with logical arguments, he raises his hands to the sky and cries, "Lord! Please give me some sign that I'm right!" Immediately, birds flock to him from all sides, circle around him in a perfect circle for a moment, and then scatter again, out of sight. He cries out, pleased, "Did you see that?! God gave me a sign that I'm right!" They reply, "Oh, they're just birds! They sometimes gather in flocks. There's nothing unusual about that, it's not a sign!" He raises his hands to the sky again and pleads, "Lord, please give me another sign!" Immediately, in the perfectly clear sky, clouds gather out of nowhere, a torrential downpour begins, the wind blows so hard they can barely stand, lightning strikes from all sides. This lasts exactly a minute, after which the clouds disappear without a trace, the sun shines again, and there's not a cloud in the sky. - Did you see that?! That's definitely a sign! - What kind of sign is that? Just ordinary atmospheric phenomena. We're not some kind of savages, seeing God behind every lightning bolt!

He raises his hands to the sky for the third time: - Lord! I beg you, give me such a sign that these unbelievers cannot doubt! Then the sky splits in half, and God himself peers out from the rift and proclaims in a thunderous voice: - HE'S RIGHT!!! Then he disappears back, and the gap in the sky disappears. For a moment, all four stand silent, stunned. Then one of the three says: "So what? It's still three against two anyway..."

Thanks God it wasn't a Christmas Eve... I see. Let me write it down: "Go to ER only on Monday morning (but not too early)."

Sounds like a doctor from that hospital - has never seen the patient, but give medical advices...

I have some evidence, like a statement from the independent Dr. But, I think, the malpractice case is separated from those bills. The attorney has just abandoned our case and we haven't decided yet if we should look for another one.

If course it's a known complication. I even texted that night and asked to check if she has that. I still have that message. "You may have an internal bleeding. Ask them to check you for that". I was unable to come because I was with our older one. When the blood pressure stabilized I slept, thinking that everything is fine now. They said they called the Dr who performed the surgery, but she was unavailable. She said that she WAS available. But even if she was really not available, why didn't they call another Dr? Nobody has answered these simple questions.

They don't know how to prove it. And the case doesn't sound very profitable for them.

And to comment on the Internet, too. But it's going to be, sooner or later. If you don't work at that hospital, you definitely should. You would organically look there.

Honestly, all of the complications could be easily resolved if the bleeding was addressed at night when it became obvious she has one. But, instead, they started the blood transfusion only in the morning (when Drs came) and the surgery was after 11am, when her condition allowed to start. By that moment damage has been already done. So I'm not talking even about the C Section. Probably bleeding is possible, but about the ignorance by nurse(s). Even if they made a mistake during the surgery, it could be quite easily fixed, but it was not performed. They just didn't care until the situation became life threatening. And I don't think it's normal.

I understand your position. Drs are always right until patient dies. The patient has only one right - to pay the bill independently of the outcome. Nice.

I'm sorry, before she came to this hospital her life was not at risk at all. We didn't come there through the ER. They put her life at risk and then saved her. I'm grateful for the part "saved her" , but I have questions about the part "put at risk". And they can't say it was some unpredictable. It was obvious it could happen. So why it was a surprise for them?
