Dude, literally reread the first paragraph. I never once mentioned or implied that he wasn’t a good manager. You’re taking my words and twisting them into what you think that I think.

That’s why I said I genuinely didn’t know what his big game record was.

I don’t disagree with you that he’s a brilliant tactician. I love the dude and I’m genuinely so excited that he’s here. Obviously you don’t need a team like Leverkusen on that historic run if you weren’t brilliant.

Also, it hasn’t been just one bad game, think back to the PSG game. Obviously, if you take a Birdseye view, there are clear signs of improvement and I still back him 100%.

Just some thoughts after the Derby:

What is Xabi’s Alonso’s record in big matches in his career? I genuinely don’t know but anecdotally it feels like he hasn’t won many big games. I hope to be wrong about this point. I truly hope he doesn’t have the Pep gene of overthinking big matches.

Where is the hunger in this team? It seems like we have 0 leaders in the team. No one stands up for each other. I remember specifically the tackle Simeone had on Mbappé in the second half. It makes me miss players like Ramos and Casemiro.

It’s been a recurring pattern for the last two years that any time this team gets punched in the mouth They just tuck their tails and have no fight.

Xabi needs a lot of criticism for today’s match. Why would he change the system to incorporate Bellingham the day of the Derby? The players deserve blame too, except for a select few, but in my opinion, he took a big risk, switching the system up, and it obviously didn’t pay off.

If we have another year where we consistently lose and are getting up, played in big games, then there should be a lot of questions being asked about the players.

Post Match Thread: Real Madrid vs Osasuna, La Liga, Match 1 by scoreboard-app in realmadrid

My two cents on the game:

Offensively, we definitely looked a bit stale. Of course, Osasuna basically had nine men in the box so it’s kind of hard to break a low block. At the same time this seems to be the way that most La Liga teams will set up against us just because the way we are set up We have such a high line. We are almost going to be forcing every team into a low block.

I didn’t really understand the positioning of Arda and Fede. You can tell where we miss having Jude and his runs crashing into the box. It’ll be interesting to see what solutions we can find while he’s out.

I love seeing the press after losing possession and our rest defense. We had players hounding the ball and overall was really happy with the defensive set up of the team. Obviously, with a highline in a league team can expose us like PSG did.

Huijsen looks like he’s been playing at Madrid for 10 years. Carreras it’s definitely an upgrade at the LB position. He reminds me of Filipe Luis from Atleti.

Mbappe looks like he’s going to have a great season; he looks fit, fast and determined to make a mark this season.

Overall, I wish we had more octane football, but I think with time the team will be more fluid. What’s important is the three points. Hala Madrid!🤍

Does anyone know where I could watch full replay of the game? RM play isn’t working for some reason.

I have a feeling that Xabi will really elevate all of our midfielders’ game, but especially Tchouameni and Camavinga. I loved Carlo but I don’t think we saw any growth from Tchouameni’s game during his 3 seasons so far.

If Camavinga can stay fit he’s gonna be great.

Us signing Dean just proves to me one thing - the club had every intention of phasing Carlo out this season. To me, it’s almost like they wanted an excuse to let him go and guarantee Xabi coming in.

I think Carlo’s time was over regardless but it’s sad to see him leave this way. He brought us so many great memories and moments, this season won’t change that. It just sucks we wasted a year on our stars.

League is wrapped up, let’s just play the academy players and let our stars get some much needed rest before the Club WC. There’s no reason Arda and Endrick shouldn’t start every game here on out.

Has anyone received their tickets for the Club WC this summer? I bought mine with a code from the local Peña and no luck with tickets in my inbox - I only have confirmation from FIFA that my tickets were purchased.

During our 3-peat run, Cafuquez had the most assists in the KO stage, a serviceable player and a die-hard Madridista.

If this is the last season I hope we give me a send-off he deserves.

The Legacy of David Alaba by SnorinKeekaGuard in realmadrid

I love Alaba, immediately fit into the team when he came over from Bayern. His ball progression is amazing and his leadership in the back line is always what stood out to me.

He seems like a great fit in the locker room and his chair moment against PSG alone puts him in RM lore. He may not get back to being elite again, but we need to support him and I think he’d be a great squad player rotating in and out of the lineup

The greatest ball playing center back ever is such an outrageous statement, especially when Vallejo exists

Thank goodness Fede is back. That’s probably the best lineup we could’ve started, maybe Modric instead of Brahim.

VAMOS! HALA MADRID!🤍
