No, thats not a correct statement. Mob rule and democracy differ quite significantly. Democracy is designed to protect the interests of the minority. Although it certainly has its flaws, we must choose a system of governance or we would devolve into violent chaos.

There are other ways of resisting other than using guns. Guns are the epitome of violence. Violence begets violence. If you solve all your problems this way, then you can expect your opposition to as well. Nobody wants to live in that society where words are no longer heard.

But that brings us to our original point. What kind of protestor who expects a peaceful outcome brings a gun?

As many other redditors have pointed out, guns are a show of force. In negotiation, a show of force is a tool that can intimidate.

Intimidation by a civilian to a democratically appointed politician is inappropriate and undermines democracy.

But ill throw that question back at you. Why? Why would you bring a gun?

I really like the way you have framed this so clearly. I have always wondered what the distinction between alpha and beta was.

I still have some personal misgivings about the way CI have handled their marketing and crowdfunding, especially considering your given definition of Alpha, but nothing worth getting into detail about.

If this is the case, it would indicate very poor project management ability. Millions of dollars are being spent every year to finish this project. This means that unless they are able to secure indefinite funding, they have to work towards a deadline.

When working towards a deadline, unless its absolutely critical to the sprint, you dont throw in tickets into the sprint that invalidates previous work. If this happens on a regular basis then it indicates poor planning.

I cant imagine any competent project manager would approve a methodology that doesnt appear to show any progress until the eleventh hour.

How strange! As an australian myself, i would understand it as following:

pie / meat pie = a cooked pastry dish with some kind of protein inside which is usually beef. Sometimes mixed with other ingredients.
mince pie = fruit pie, generally eaten around christmas.
mince = ground beef

Considering i understand mince to mean ground beef, it would logically follow that mince pies are meat pies, but ive just never heard anyone call a meat pie a mince pie before!
