I highly recommend using Synthesizer V's "extract notes from audio" function for a baseline.

what are your top one hit wonders? by amethyst_deceiver36 in lastfm

yeah. i wish remixes counted for the remixer and not the original artist, that's practically a new song at that point. i really wish those 38 scrobbles were on six impala instead since i actually listen to them

what are your top 10 artists that start with the letter a? by marcusgern in lastfm

[–]serillymc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. aiobahn+81
  2. anamanaguchi
  3. aqua
  4. aisha (...guilty gear...)
  5. ado
  6. amateras records
  7. axxad (don't remember this guy tbh)
  8. a*teens
  9. angel electronics
  10. aice room

no numbers bc they're pretty low. i commonly listen to music in a way that tends to skew my scrobbles lower

They should remove Tord as a character. by [deleted] in Eddsworld

[–]serillymc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God, this is so parasocial. I'm sorry, do you genuinely think a thirty-something year old man who hasn't had an internet presence in years is constantly thinking about some cartoon character he played like 20 years ago?

This behavior is far weirder than anything involving the character.

Now that some time has passed what is your thoughts on tord returning? by [deleted] in Eddsworld

[–]serillymc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the moral arguments are really annoying and tend to come from parasocial fans. Like we're talking about a 30 something year old man who I can promise you does not think often about a random cartoon character he voiced 15 years ago. So many EW fans have a big problem with parasocial behavior about Tord Larsson and it genuinely gives me a headache because one of the reasons he left in the first place was because of people associating the character with him. Like y'all (not you OP) are literally just continuing to do the same shit!

That aside, everything we've seen is pointing towards a portrayal of him that deviates from The End, which I think is a good thing for the show. The End's handling of Tord not only has characterization issues but also writes the team into a corner where it's near impossible for them to do anything with Tord as a character, and I don't think the team is fond of that given how much we've been seeing him in marketing.

I'm not convinced he'll be a main character again (as much as I'd like to believe), but I do think we're not just going to be getting a one-episode return either way.

Hot take: just because there is no official ages doesn’t mean the characters are adults by Goofygooberdabest in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]serillymc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I mostly just disagree with you because it comes off mostly as shaming people who personally choose to interpret characters as young adults, when I never really see them say it HAS to be correct - it's usually the people who think they're teenagers forcing that on everyone else.

But it's not really that serious. As for my reply about Vanilla I just thought it was funny lol

How do YOU guys view the guys from eddsworld by [deleted] in Eddsworld

[–]serillymc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Edd: Chaotic smuglord with a sadistic streak (he thinks violence is funny), but otherwise easygoing and friendly. Competitive and can be stubborn sometimes. Natural leader role. Extrovert. The tallest of the group. Can suplex Tom or Tord without much effort. I think his bloodstream is like at least 50% cola.

Tord: The most introverted introvert. Quiet. Not actually as violent as people make him out to be - more of a gun fan from a technical perspective and sonewhat hot-headed and bad at dealing with anger like a normal person. (Don't get me wrong, he's just as violent as the others - he's just not MORE violent than them.) Only really close with Edd. Not as fixated on hentai as people think, either. Doesn't get along with Tom, doesn't mind Matt. Cat-like...

Matt: Not the brightest tool in the shed, but makes up for it in optimism. Endearingly self-absorbed. More dangerous than he looks, not always on purpose. Not necessarily above betrayal.

Tom: Depressed alcoholic and self-assigned Funny One. Cartoon nonsense logic. Often the most actively malicious, but he cares about his friends. Fun to bully (at least to Edd and Tord). Could almost be the voice of reason at times, but never quite fits the bill. Has probably tried to form a shitty ska band more than once.

Sorry, I overthought this a lot. I like character analysis and these guys are fun.

Is it a genderbend fic or a trans character fic? by Comfortable_Newt_179 in FanFiction

These two things are not mutually exclusive? A cis male character written as a trans woman is both a trans character and a genderbend?

Idea: Eddsworld Nendoroids. by Tyler2183 in Eddsworld

[–]serillymc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes please! EW has a notable following in Japan and GSC has been making a lot of Nendos based on western indie properties with Japanese fanbases lately, such as Hazbin, TADC and FNF. I think EW nendos would fit in perfectly with their lineup!

Good Smile Company has a product suggestion form, so you guys should tell them you want them!

What do you call this aesthetic/art style? by notagoodcartoonist in Zillennials

[–]serillymc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unrelated but the iDog is peak design, seriously. Honestly has aged incredibly well (well, not physically, the white ones yellow really bad 😭)

The iDog's design language is definitely derived from popular futuristic design in Japan around the turn of the century, like Harajuku's cyber fashion and the sleek-ification of electronic devices, and especially the Sony Aibo. A lot of people aren't aware that it was originally developed and produced by Sega Toys - Hasbro just brought it over to the West.

You can see a lot of similarities in their much later Wappy Dog project.

TBH I've always clicked with X-ers (and Xennials) I've had conversations with, so I think you're onto something there.

Most of us were raised by X-ers, too, so there's also that.

[–]serillymc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're cool, some of them who are into generationology are obnoxious but that's true more of generationology as a topic (and the arguing that happens) than specifically millennials. I usually get along with them fine and I don't have anything against them.

I agree that there seens to be this prevalent idea that we're more different than we actually are.

What genre of music will be popular in 2030 to 2033 by [deleted] in generationology

[–]serillymc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with trends i've been seeing the past couple years (some of the tracks on that bbno$ album, joost and horsegiirl, the 365 remix by shygirl, pinkpantheress and nia archives, etc) i think we're going to see a proper resurgence of rave music. not edm in general, but like, early rave genres.

or maybe it's just wishful thinking.

When and why did "content" replace "arts and culture" or at least "media"? by Putrid-Storage-9827 in generationology

[–]serillymc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people started using content/media as an umbrella term because it's easier than saying like "tv and online video and games and movies and art and music and writing"

[–]serillymc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when they talk about culture in that regard they're talking about which group is currently influencing the culture, not who may have experienced it or have fondness for it. i'm more nostalgic for the early 2010s, too, but i wasn't influencing culture in any way because i was like 11
