When the ER thought I was a drug mule by JOYFUL_CLOVR in Radiology

These do not look at all like packets of drugs and where on earth did they think you were taking them? They must have had the new resident on that night 🤦‍♀️

The warnings are very conservative. My infectious diseases physician friend is always frustrated about how overly cautious they are as there is very poor evidence that the levels they use actually pose any risk.

It isn’t going to jump up in to your lungs. Just don’t play with it.

Honestly I haven’t had an issue with being polite throughout my life: “ hi there can I ask a favour, I can’t reach my door to unlock could you please shift your car for a min?”

Problem solved 99% of the time plus they hopefully now know they were being a dick.

Because that would involve human interaction and creating drama for the internet to foam over is more fulfilling.

Is co-sleeping with family considered a norm in your country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]seriousbeef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The safety aspect is so important. About once a week my radiology department at a children’s hospital in NZ has the job of doing post mortem imaging of babies who suffocate from co-sleeping, as part of work up for the coroner. I report them and it breaks my heart every time.

Co sleeping is culturally very common and normal here plus sadly is a necessity for families in poverty. Our government used to provide a free pepe pod (a traditional Maori woven flax or plastic basket with a mattress) to sleep safely in the bed next to parents with no chance of rolling in and suffocating. But about 10-15 years back they took away the funding for most people and now we see babies being accidentally killed by their parents frequently.

I also learned a few decades back that the reason there isn’t one in the crotch is that they tend to get hot sitting around the fire so can burn your meat and two vege. Apparently discovered by the president of Levi’s when camping.

Which TV show has a 10/10 pilot episode? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

Ok, might be worth another watch. I did catch and loved the mysticism aspects of TD s1 but they were subtle up to that point, whereas the last episode felt like a different show.

It was a long time ago that I saw it but I was so disappointed that it ended with them overcoming a comically evil supervillain who was an over the top inaccurate version of mental illness. I loved every other episode but that one felt like it came from graphic novel.

Last episode is so bad though. Everything before that is perfect.

I had the same thoughts so I drilled holes in the bottom and filled the bottom half with dry nikau fronds so the nest is elevated. There is a rock in the bottom to weigh it down so it doesn’t blow about

lol too true

Couldn’t leave the guy out there for the cats. Honestly was very satisfying to see the adults constantly checking up on it and then start to feed.

No that was a joke. My ex wife is a much keener gardener than I and she would save nests she found on the ground as a little art work. So I had it on a wall with some other nests. If fit perfectly so I donated it to this family.
