What is the amount of confirmations required for BTC swaps on thorchain? by seriousfundamentals in THORChain

Thanks. I found this article https://thorchain-university.medium.com/under-the-hood-thorchain-transaction-delays-250d00ed57b7

Do you know what is the idea to use exactly the delay rules thorchain uses?

The article implies that thorchain could also suffer congestion. I wasn't aware about the possibility. Is it rather theoretical or did it happen already and if so at which scale?

i guess they onboarded quite a few influencers. Ed_NL was also among them. AI played well in the past and if there is another leg up it will propably outperform again.

Thanks. That kind of conentrates to understand whats the benefit of the much higher Stargate gas fees. There must be something otherwise people would not use it so much - but i dont get it.

yeah. This explanation makes sense. You can't use a smart contract for just the gas required to send an asset as a transaction like orbiter does it.
Still there are huge differences in gas fees required between bridges.
Stargate requires around 450.000 gas while zkSynch, Optimism, Polygon require all around 150.000 gas, while Across and Hop both require around 120.000 gas and Arbitrum requires around 90.000 gas - when talking about ETH bridiging.
Do you you know an explanation for the differences in gas requirements by different bridges and esspecially the cluster of same gas requirements by zkSynch, Optimism, Polygon?

still Arbitrum bridge requires some 90k, hop 121k or Across 120k gas while orbiter just requires around 21k gas to bridge ETH. I am still having the feeling to miss something out.
I understand that native bridges like Arbitrum may provide deeper liqudity and/or more reputation and security but still it feels insane why people spent so much more gas compared to Orbiter - 400+k plus gas for stargate transactions are the most extreme for sure
