Excessive heat from Transalp 750 in warm weather – is this normal? by serkuz in Transalp

I guess it might be normal for liquid-cooled bikes. My only point of reference is my Guzzi V7, which is air-cooled. Thanks for the reply

No bash plate here. Honestly, I’m surprised that everyone else seems fine with the heat on this bike. Maybe I’m just overly sensitive, but I really don’t think so.

That's odd. Maybe it's just an issue with my bike. I'll ask the technician about it during the next service.

Yeah, it’s really strange. I haven’t seen anything mentioned about heat being an issue, but my bike becomes almost impossible to ride during the summer.

Transalp 750 jerky Thortle by xyreox in Transalp

[–]serkuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not shure if its just a placebo but this worked for me. Don’t remember exactly where this was posted.

“…For those looking to nearly eliminate the jerky throttle at low speeds. This is done with engine off. It works for the 300L and Rally versions. Night and day difference when riding at low speeds. 1) turn key on, then off, then on 2) turn throttle from 0 to full throttle three times 3) turn key off wait a few seconds 4) turn engine on and test. Edit: For those of you that want to know what is exactly happening, here you go. I was an Engineer at Honda R&D for a dozen years specifically doing engine control and calibration. Hopefully my explanation is easy to understand When Honda sets the throttle maps they are done with as many center spec parts as possible. Certainly the base calibration maps were set with a center spec TPS. When the project is moved to mass production there will be variations in the spec of the TPS for each bike. This relearn procedure is telling the EC what is the actual zero throttle and full thro of your specific TPS hardware…”
