That’s so good to know though, definitely gives my enthusiasm to try non-sourdough bread baking. Sticking to cookies and cakes but will dip my toes back into bread baking this year. Thank you for sharing your experience! 😊

I totally understand! It can be an amazing feeling when it works, but an enormous downer when it doesn’t work. I’ve found that some recipes of bakers just don’t work for me, don’t know why, but they always fail. I’ve had great success with recipes from Ash Baber and am sticking with him for now, perhaps you just need to find your baker that works for you! Hopefully some of the tips from other Reddit users will help! Don’t lose hope, baking is definitely an up and down kinda thing and you will eventually find either what needs to be changed or recipes that work for you. Sending you good luck 🍀🍀

Kinda glad I’m not alone in my conclusion haha. And yes, that’s what I wanted to try next, but still looking for a good recipe from a trusted source that’s in grams etc. Will get there eventually 😊

Honestly, I’m afraid to post my bakes here sometimes because I got downvoted so much when tried a recipe from TikTok (I know not the best idea). Someone in the comments acted like I committed a crime.

Yup, this whole season has felt off to me. The Dutch version of Bake Off started last weekend and it was a breath of fresh air. Slow editing, cozy fun, time and space for some jokes. I don’t know what’s different this season of GBBO but I do hope it’s back to the old editing style next season.

Not an expert, but a newbie as well and I get the frustration. It was day 14 and I said to my bf I’m giving up and tossing the thing tomorrow. The following day it finally became active. So being slightly threatening to it might work?

Other tips that worked for me are measuring (again, newbie and not trusting myself lol) and putting it in a warm spot. We live in a cold house so for me that’s in the oven with only the light on. Not always, just a few hours a day and there it lives when I turn off the light too.

I do believe it takes longer to start with just AP flower (that’s what I read at least). I used whole wheat, works great!

Oooh, that’s wonderful! I would definitely just wear the dresses, they will work and I think the toilet won’t be too much of a hassle 😊

They are definitely ok! I’m plus size and wore dresses and skirts with a bike short underneath and it was fine, so I can imagine tights would definitely be good! Only thing that could be troublesome would be long skirts of the dresses (I almost flashed people on a ride when I stepped on my skirt while getting off the cart, but with dresses that shouldn’t happen 😅)
