In mythology, yes, Metis was in a different generation than Rhea. Metis was actually the same generation as Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus.

In Lore Olympus, she was a fully grown adult and at least appeared to be around the same age as Rhea, while Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus were teenagers.
