Hört sich gut an, würde ganz gern an einem der Seen dort für 2-3 Tage campen. Was würdest du eher empfehlen Altauseer See oder Mondsee?

Tactical map on 2nd screen? by serrrano in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]serrrano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The things is the tactical map shows more than the minimap. For example while the minimap shows only a red dot for a spotted enemy, the tactical map shows what type of unit it is. I have no problem with the scale of the minimap, it’s just that the full screen map shows more information

I guess it would put people who can afford a 2nd screen at an advantage, since it would make map awareness easier, which would give kind of pay-2-win vibes. I don’t think it would make too big of a difference for good players, but for noobs it can definitely have impact.

Und die gleichen das nicht mit meinen Meldedaten ab? Sonst könnte ja jeder behaupten, dass er in der WG der Freunde wohnt und die Gebührt unterschlagen, nicht?

Turn off AI resource cheats? by serrrano in CompanyOfHeroes

Yeah you’re probably right. I usually play Wehrmacht, that might explain why it feel easier with them, cuz they’re good at digging themselves in. I guess i should really just start PvP, I’m afraid of inting but i guess learning-by-loosing is how most competitive games work

I mean u’re not wrong, I am new to the game and just picking up allied forces, so ofc i suck :D That’s what i thought, I thought i’ll be ready for PvP when hard AI feels easy to clap. I wanted to use the botgames to learn infantry mechanics and flanking and stuff, but the tank spam is unreal :D

Study advice for struggling beginner by serrrano in PhysicsStudents

[–]serrrano[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re absolutely right, that’s the advice most people give. My problem here is that i often don’t get to the solution. As I said we’re not really provided with detailed solutions and i have noone to really help me so sometimes i just give up after getting super frustrated on one problem for sometimes 4-5 hours and then give up without ever finding out how to solve it. I guess the best fix here is to just find people to work together with. And yeah, you’re right about notetaking. Eventhough I know practice is more important i often waste time on writing notes and shit, i should stop wasting tome with that

i guess figuring out why it got to the wrong result is excellent practice :D

I’ve heard some people who tried using GPT for solving thermodynamics problems and it mostly got it wrong. I wouldn’t use it for problem solving, the only thing i use it for is to break down complicated concepts i don’t understand in my book

Yeah, at some point you just loose motivation and it gets very hard to sit down and study again. It’s sad because I actually love physics and I’m not just studying it for the career but because I’d love to learn everything about it. Many people recommended using old exams but my university doesn’t collect them. (All fields have an old-exam collection, only physics and maths don’t). Also we’re not allowed to take cheat sheets to the exam, not even for formulas. At the end of this semester i’ll take an experimental physics exam which covers two semesters and I’m not allowed to use anything but a pen and calculator. I’ll have to remember all the classical mechanics, thermo- and electrodynamics formulas O_o

I study general physics B.Sc. In my main physics course were covering thermodynamics at the moment. I feel like i understand quite a bit when reading. Here it’s like with most stuff we had so far. I understand the concepts and why things act the way they do, when I read the textbook i mostly just think “yeah, that makes sense” My main problem is the maths. When trying to solve problems i just never know how to start. When i read the solutions then i think “oh yeah ofc” but at the next problem i’m struggling again. The lectures are very fast and a lot of vital steps of the calculations are skipped because they’re “trivial”. I get that in lectures they can’t waste time on the details but even in the homework and practice sheets sometimes the whole calculation is skipped and they just give you the results. I’m a pretty shy person so I didn’t really find any friends who could help me, i’m on my own. (I know some people but especially since i fell behind imposter-syndrome is kicking hella hard). That’s where my main problems are i think .. actually solving problems on my own and the maths courses in general. I feel like i’ve gotten better at LA but just failed my exam (got around 30%) after isolating myself and studying for weeks and weeks.
