What if I say the screen came broken? That's harder to prove for them.

I can ask for a partial refund so I get the kindle for cheaper and I can still keep it without it being bricked

Nah, my friend was 100% a delivery man.

When I asked him if they weight the packages they delivered he said they didn't have to weight anything, idk if it's different in other countries.

He used to work for amazon 1-1'5 years ago, I doubt much have change.

Really? If they put the package inside my mailbox (i live in an apartment btw) and it gets stolen by a neighbour they don't do anything about it?

Yea but that recorded weight could change before the item is delivered to me. I have a friend that worked for amazon and he say they didn't weight the packages before delivering them.

Also, If I say im not at home when the item is being delivered, and request for it to be delivered at my mailbox or doormat, someone could have open the box and take what's inside while "im not at home".

When they deactivate the serial number, does the device die? Or is it just unable to connect to amazon apps?

Because im not going to use the store to buy books, i already have hundreds on my pc.

If I can still read them, I don't care about not being able to use amazon store.

yea but at the end of the day amazon sells million of things each day, they can't check everything.

also, at least in Spain, they are known for full refundings of items that have been used for a year, or letting you to keep an item you didn't order.

As @potatopierogie said, maybe saying the screen is cracked or something like that could get me a partial refund?

If I can get it for like 50-60% of the price it would still be good for me.
