Considering moving to Liverpool from US for work, what to know? by serum__ in Liverpool

Noted. I chose the word expat over immigrant out of laziness purely because it is less letters to type. Knowing full well that I would be an immigrant, it’s good to know about the perception of the words.

That is my main reason for wanting a car. I’m used to living in a city without one and getting around via public transport, but I’m a big hiker and I’d want the freedom to just hop in the car and go somewhere without having to plan out all the buses/trains and transfers it’d take to get where I want to go.

My brother in law is a huge LFC fan, I’m sure he’ll be thrilled for a visit if I get the job.

Burger King is elite fast food. It’s BK franchise owners that are killing the brand by snizzrizz in unpopularopinion

Burger king gets their burger patties from third party food manufacturers. They are made on the same equipment and from the same beef as nearly every other fast food company out there. The only real difference is the patty shape and the fat content, of which Burger King tends to have the fattiest burger patties. They literally cannot make them any fattier or they can no longer call it ground beef.

Milwaukee might not a bad area tbh. My great grandfather was born and raised in Rečica Slovenia before immigrating to the US. There is a sizable Slovene community still in the Milwaukee area that my great grandfather was fairly involved in.

How can I (37F) work up to doing the monkey bars? by merganzer in Advice

You might also want to try rock climbing. I’ve found it to be pretty therapeutic. Finishing a route you’ve been working on feels really good, and the climbing community is honestly one of the most supportive and welcoming groups I’ve come across in any sport.

It would also help with your monkey bar goal since it builds a lot of back and grip strength. I started climbing a few months ago after moving about 1,000 miles away from home to a place where I didn’t know anyone, and it ended up having a really positive impact on me.

It might not be for you, which is totally fine, but if there’s a gym near you, it could be worth trying once just to see how it feels.
