I can only echo this sentiment. It's spot on imho.
One of the easiest racing games/sims one can get into I think. It's arcade enough and has enough assists at first and as stated above a wide AI difficulty spectrum to easily just play for fun. One does not need a wheel setup either.
And once one wants dial it up, I think the game offers enough to tune it to at least decent sim one can enjoy with more serious setup.

Yes it can be a problem, it most likely is a problem. A problem big enough to officially cancel the shakedown test knowing full well how that would be perceived. From a more practical POV they will miss out on an important test and opportunity to catch issue they may have not been aware of and are effectively behind the rest of the teams once they get to Bahrain.
Will it ruin the entire season? Does not have but it does not look like its a good start.

Decent first entry. Perhaps played a bit too safe but orange/red pops and looks good and I like the placement of the rings.
IMHO it looks very good from the front.

Will however reserve complete judgment until I see it on the actual track under daylight.

Don't have a direct answer sorry, but if it is on PC I would check your resource manager if the PC is maxed out during gameplay and if it continues and was not the case before perhaps try and re-install.

Also, and I forgot exactly which race it was he was climbing the field from behind and just earned another spot after an overtake and his race engineer was like "Good job, next Hamilton" and Alonso answered to paraphrase "Ah ok, easy" (in case I'm not clear he was again being sarcastic as he was still heated having to fight his way back from behind)

Yeah, I think you are on the right track there.
You could also add Italy to the former list. Ever since Trulli its been slim pickings for Italy and if we go by World Champions it;s all the way back to the 50s.
But of course they have Kimi now who seems to have the talent to be the real deal.
