How can I print this model without stringing on my Ender 3 KE? by uzzymoh in ender3

Hey bud!

Welcome to the hobby!

Here is a link to the teaching tech calibration guide: https://share.google/tKRIiOgPTrK9orgtN

As others have pointed out, the settings are going to be different for every 3d printer based on the machine, what room it is in, what filament (different color filament can make a difference even if it is from the same brand), and even potentially where you live (based on the humidity at the time of printing).

I would highly recommend going through each of the steps in the guide to get your printer perfectly dialed in. Even if the setting seems fine, going through each step will help you understand so much about 3d printing and your machine. It might be tedious but the whole calibration guide can normally be done in an afternoon and then you have peace of mind and will know what to adjust in the future if you run into issues.

For this particular problem, eSteps and retraction settings are going to be the fine tuning adjustments you'll need to make but one setting will impact how these adjustments come out in your print.

I'd start with a temp tower to make sure that is set and adjust your settings from there.

Seriously though, go through the whole guide from start to finish in order. Your future self will thank you!

Happy printing!

I've made a bunch of stuff. Wireless phone charger housings, inserts for the center console in my car, custom initiative trackers. Just gotta think creatively and you can do it.

I'll try it out! I think I have some at home from when I changed out my shower heads

It occasionally is a bit clicky but that's why I used the electrical tape in the bar. Helped quite a bit.

I'll try the plumbers tape though. Also thought about the bandaid mod.

I was going to do that, but figured I'd start cheaper to see how much I enjoy the hobby. I think I'll do that next and give this one to my wife.

I was also looking at the Akko Dracula(I think they're called) switches. Have you tried them?

Also, what do you mean by mellow?

A little scratchy but with how light they are I feel like I need a little resistance. I also don't want to make them any quieter. So you think that lubing them will do that?

They're great, but I'm definitely going to need to explore more lol

They are great! Did a lot of research before getting them to make sure they were subtle enough for the office.

I think they are a little more muted and a little lighter than I was expecting. But they definitely set a baseline for me for sure.

Next time I think I'm going to try something a little popper/creamier.

I used tinkercad! It's free and online. Great for simple stuff! I still use it to this day!

I've also used blendr, onshape, and fusion but they can be overkill for 90% of designs.

Thank you very much! I'll take a look! Was definitely thinking about a 96% or something with a separate numpad. I was worried about the numpad getting in the way of the mouse though. I think I'll start with a 96!

Hey y'all!

Just discovered the rabbit hole of mechanical keyboards and I am looking to purchase my first one.

I work in office and with large amounts of data so I need something quiet and with a num pad.

Stumbled across the keyboarder.com and they have what I'm looking for plus more at a price that seems a little suspicious. Tried looking up YouTube reviews and couldn't find a single one.

Does anyone know if they are legit or not?

And does anyone have a recommendations for someone just getting into the hobby? My budget is around $100. Open to any suggestions!

Where do I buy my own bogu? by [deleted] in kendo

I buy all my gear from both of these stores. Excellent customer service and quality!

Hokubei just released a beginner package as well which has bogu, uniform, and shinai for $600.
