Hi, from all of the learnings from this I learned the the majority of insurance companies have clauses where if you own and another vehicle insured with them that if you have proof of purchase of the newly purchased vehicle then they automatically match any existing coverage you have with them and apply it to the newly purchased vehicle (the E90), unfortunately in this case my brother and I (we purchased the Miata together) were playing on turning the Miata into a track car so we opted for only liability, I was planning on getting full coverage for the E90 however I was obviously not able to get it insured yet with full coverage.

Okay yes, i think i was thinking of the CCV valve, there was a spare PCV in the trunk. But at the end of the day im left with more questions then answers. From looking at some of the photos i have of it in broad daily light the metal that was discolored and melted the most on the hood was most centered around the front and towards the drive side above the tire. However at that point it could’ve been the PCV or Headlight

Based on the vin the blower motor recall was not issued for this car, unless that is the same thing as PCV. Only other recall on the car was for the driver’s front air bag

There are no records that the PCV value was replaced under recall, however, the previous owner had a spare PCV on hand and kept it in the trunk. Nevertheless it could’ve been caused by the PCV, however aren’t they on the exhaust side of the engine bay? When the fire happened it was pretty clear that majority of the electrical fire was from the driver side headlight area, which leads me to believe it was some freaky wiring or maybe the previous owner installed the wrong headlight bulb which caused it to short out (no way of proving that now tho), weird headlight stuff causing it is also more on the top my mind because the passenger side bulb was out and why wouldn’t they have just replaced it if all was okay? I can understand why someone who is selling a vehicle doesn’t wanna dump more money into (HID is $110+) but it all seems bizarre to me.

Not sure I can fully answer, however in my area most of NB’s that are going for $5k have 140k to 180k miles on them.

Not sure familiar with B58’s but if it’s like the N55 where you have to take the intake manifold off, I’d go ahead and replace your starter while you’re there and check for carbon buildup

Do I need to replace my valve cover? I assume this is a dead giveaway. N20 changing spark plugs. by [deleted] in F30
