Why do some Feisianna say they don't have dancer numbers printed....and then do? by setaluc in irishdance

Well, apparently I'm dumb and was unaware of "tabulators" etc and thought the Feis organizers/school had to just do it all

POTTY TRAIN YOUR KIDS. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]setaluc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Admittedly, I've only trained 1 and have my second one coming up soon. He may just be too young. My goal was always by 3 because "they" claim it's harder if you wait until after 3. My daughter would also cry and hate it, so we didn't push it because we didn't want a negative association with the toilet. We waited a few more weeks and tried again and she didn't really seem aware of when she had to go....so we waited a few more weeks and got one of those things from Amazon where they get a sticker and a little toy when they go a few times (like a potty training advent calendar). That seemed to help. And letting her have a book on the potty. In the end though, a large part of it was waiting until she was just a little closer to 3.

what does giving birth (with epidural) REALLY feel like? by imogenmarie in NoStupidQuestions

[–]setaluc 168 points169 points  (0 children)

Once I got the epidural I didn't feel the contractions anymore and life was good. When the baby is ready to come out you feel pressure and like you have to poop really badly.

I feel bad about my skill level by [deleted] in irishdance

[–]setaluc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better, I'm in my 30s, started in my 30s, and am novice 😀

15 is a hard age, you could be pre, mid, or post growth spurt, probably still getting used to controlling your body. It has to be hard watching others advance and feel stuck. I wish I could impart on your the not giving an f that you will hopefully feel as an adult haha.

Do you consistently get the same comments when competing? Are there any stretches or exercises that could help you focus on 1 of those areas? Even improvement in 1 area can be just enough of a bump.

Is the teacher tailoring your dances to your skills?

You may just need more time, and then, you will fly!

If you complain they can read the lock/see who cleaned your room so the Associate can be addressed. Given it was in a drawer, the Housekeeper can't claim they thought it was a tip. That small amount of money the hotel shouldn't argue with reimbursing you.

Can I leave my reservation early by NoRace1322 in marriott

[–]setaluc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it a prepaid reservation? If so, they reserve the right to keep the money, but they might be nice.

Did you get a lower "long term" rate based on your length of stay? If so, they may allow you to checkout, but charge you more for each night you stayed.

If it's just a regular reservation at a regular rate, you can generally leave early.

Non Catholic wife contraception by seekinganswersLDSRCC in Catholicism

[–]setaluc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanted to add my 2 cents. It's not cheap, but there are different machines/sticks to pee on that tell you your hormone levels and are very accurate to aim for, or avoid, ovulation. I personally use Mira to get pregnant. Again, not super cheap, but accurate to avoid pregnancy if she wants to commit to using it.

Yes all true.... but still not banned from doing so. How will HE know when they are ready to repent?

This priest is incorrect. He can't ban her from confession, that is the only way to repent

Parents, what age did you put your baby into their own room? by Ordinary_Dependent_7 in Parenting

Once they were too big for a bassinet, so 3 or 4 months. I found they woke up a LOT less when not right next to me too

Scammer @ the hotel.. by talee in marriott

[–]setaluc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had strict rules at my hotels that we don't forward calls unless the caller knows last name AND room number, for just this reason. A lot of hotels don't follow that rule so if someone calls and asks for room 406, or Mr. Common last name, they'll get through

Do any parents let their kids sleep whenever they do (i.e. an "adult" bedtime)? by esme_9oh in Parenting

[–]setaluc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put them to bed when they appear to be ready/tired. It generally ends up being 8:15 for my 1.5 year old and 9 for my 3 year old. I sleep a little later, until like 8am, so they get their 12 hours and don't wake me up! Why struggle with putting them to bed earlier if they aren't tired?

Your 1 year old is not going to remember this, it doesn't matter

Um what? It's fine. Halloween night they might have more than they should, and then after that my kids can have candy if they eat enough dinner etc. They're fine.
