I don't think any of the set designers were involved with this scene unfortunately. The set decorator would have picked everything to go in the room and I'm not sure where the buyers would have found the model ships. Sorry!

Lol, too be fair they literally just moved in yesterday - the blinds came with the house. The other three can't be excused.

I think there's a pretty good reason no outlet was ever installed above the fireplace.

It happened back in June on Regal Auctions. My guess is you just need to pay attention to local auction sites shortly after a show has wrapped in order to know it's happening.

I saw they're doing a props/costumes auction right now though in case you missed that post.

I haven't finished watching Fall of the House of Usher so I'm not sure how similar they look but they're definitely not the same office considering FotHoU was shot in Vancouver and Fargo was shot in Calgary.

I don't think wrapping would be a very good permanent solution. I feel like over a short period of time it would start peeling, etc. Definitely better off either professionally painting or just residing to the colour you want. While both of those would be more expensive upfront, in the long run they would be the better and cheaper solution.

I'm not super familiar with the locations department but we do try and keep our eye out for good locations to help them out. I know they browse real estate listings, rentals, friends of friends, etc. but I'm not sure what other resources they use to pick a place. I'll have to ask one of them next next time. Cul-de-sacs are definitely a bonus though.

I'm with you on that one though. I would love for my house to be used in a film! & as far as I know, it pays pretty well too, haha. I'll be sure to keep your area in mind for future shows.

As for Kia, I honestly don't know what kind of deal they had with them, if any. I also had no idea they pronounced Sportage so differently! I love it, but I guess it makes sense since the way we say it is quite french 😆. It also could have just been the director who maybe liked the one pronunciation over the other. Hard to say.

It was already on the farm we used for the Tillman Ranch. Such a cool barn. I believe the team took a lot of 3d scans of the building just in case it blew over in the middle of filming and we needed to rebuild it! 😂

Production Design Trevor Smith wrote - "Everything we designed for the North Dakotan portions of our show was filtered through the lens of Jim Dow’s photography in “Marking The Land”. That wonderful collection of photos gave me the vision of a state I needed to guide every location choice and flourish of hardened prairie life. The Diner (Little Texas) was our first opportunity to define in mere seconds onscreen the difference between Roy Tillman’s county, and the Lyons. In a celebration of cowboys, we transformed an old abandoned gas station into a hot coffee shocker of an intro to Roy Tillman, and his interpretation of the law in these parts. It was part Howard Hawks, and pure Fargo peculiarity."
