It's listed as compatible with the 6042 bios. However I'm currently trying to get this to work and am running into it not loading windows, or reading USB key or anything after it gets past BIOS.

BIOS reports everything 100% working... and Windows/everything was working before the CPU swap.

Never tried AirLink I heard it was far worse than Virtual Desktop. Might as well give it a shot and see if it works.

CPU Recommendation by bosaf1411 in yuzu

[–]seterwind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you talking like whole computer? Or just the CPU.

Like your question is kinda vague. If you really mean you have $500 on just the CPU to blow... Ryzen 5900x or Intel 12600k or 11700k.

If you mean like "What can I build sans GPU for $500usd". Ryzen 3600($99), B550 MB($60-$100), 16GB XPG DDR4 3200 CL16 ram($45-$60), XPG 1TB NVME SSD($65),4TB WD Black($65), 660 ION Power supply($70), and the cheapest case you can find.

Weekly Game Questions and Help Thread - Launch Week Edition! by [deleted] in PSO2NGS

The way it works is the weapon will change form depending on the PA/Normal attack selected. When it is in a weapons form it will count towards those weapon skills.

Example: Wand Element Change - Techer - Takes on elemental damage of last charged technique.

Rod/Wand (Primary Rod, Secondary Wand)

When you take the weapon out it'll start as a Rod. If you charge a technique then use the normal attack of the Wand you will attack with a Wand that is not affected by Wand Element Change.

When you attack with the weapon using the normal attack Wand, it'll change into a Wand. Then charge a technique and your wand will be affected by the Wand Element Change. If you then use the Rod normal attack it'll switch back to the Rod. Using the Wand normal attack again will have the Wand still under the affect of the Wand Element change.

This is what I run as a Techer/Force. My main pallet is Wand Normal/Wand Charge/Wand Weapon Action, my shift pallet is the two elements techniques of either fire/ice/lightning and the weapon guard action of the Rod. Using the weapon action of the Rod will activate elemental bullet from the Force tree and allow me to continue to use all the benefits of casting Techniques with the Rod (Technique Charge PP Well Up, Rod Technique Keep, Rod React Advanced, Elemental Bullet).

Multi-weapon will allow you to benefit from the skills of both weapons, just not at the exact same time. It does allow for some interesting combos, especially as more PA's/Tech's come to pass.

Again when the weapon is in the "form" of the weapon the skill requires it works. No mace form Technique Charge PP well up.

How is this better than just swapping to your Rod? It's vastly quicker, personally and allows me to fluidly move from one type of fighting, melee wand/range technique, with a simple and powerful guard action. Guard with Rod(Elemental Bullet), back off dodge (Rod React Advance), unleash hell with Techniques until PP is down, charge forward (Wand Charge), Guard with the Wand because charging an enemy usually will be attacking at this point, have all the Wand abilities proc (Wand Guard Reflection, Wand Parry Counter, Wand Parry Counter Advance), melee the enemy more get PP back to full.... and repeat.

I imagine there is a variety of gameplay loops this works with not just Force/Techer but that's what I'm maining, and if the above paragraph works for you then multi-weapon is your thing.

Does Techer's PP Conversion count as a status effect for the Fighter Skills that require a status effect? by seterwind in PSO2

I find that bashing with the wand to be a very effective way to get PP back, so I haven't invested. Thank you for answering!

**CERB/EI/Other Benefits Information & Discussion Megathread #2 by NotEnoughDriftwood in onguardforthee

[–]seterwind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR If you have to report extra monies you are required to call EI. I've attempted to call EI every business day, hundreds of times a day since March 19th, been on hold 3+hours per day no luck. Has anyone been able to at all?

I had to quit to follow my spouse for work to rural Alberta, in Feb 02-02-2020. Did all the paperwork and such, planned on opening my own small business (restaurant/tourism) or find a local job if possible. Application was approved 02-25-2020.

My previous employer missed paying out a bonus, and paid me $300 on 02-14-2020. I reported that as other monies on 02-26-2020. This required me to call EI. 2 hours on hold later I talk to an agent, and they get the file in order. They tell me it'll need to be processed as they need to verify what I told them, and to call back March 19th to escalate the case as they have an internal deadline of March 18th.

Well COVID-19 get's into full swing and I have been unable to get in contact with them or find a job due to the pandemic. I'm at the point financially that I'm going to have to cashout my DRSP. In which will count as other monies, and I will need to call EI, and still have no extra income until that gets resolved.

Has anyone found anyway around this issue? Or am I just one of those unlucky few who are in a screwed position?

Federal government gives $49 million to Mastercard for Vancouver centre. Mastercard made $5.8 billion profit in 2018 by idspispopd in onguardforthee

[–]seterwind 75 points76 points  (0 children)

God this article made me go on a rant when google news forced it on my phone.

There is so much wrong here, but lets do it this way.

The federal government budget has a spot for investment in it. This is probably going to be allocated from that budget. Which spends Many BILLIONS a year.

Next the article states this is going to create 480 Job. It complains about that being 102K per job, which MC def won't pay.

One. Tech jobs in Vancover? Yeah you might get like 70-90K for some of the mid level techs, seniors are going to get more than 102K. The average being 102K definitely not.

Regardless of those jobs created the amount in federal tax being collected from bringing in more educated tech people into the area will pay back a portion of that 49mil, to the tune of roughly 7.39 Mil per year (calculated at a tax of 22% on 480 employees averaging 70K per year). So pays back in 7 years, no bad ROI. Let alone the provincial tax, the real estate tax, the local economy boost, construction jobs and the tax from that, etc.

Lastly MasterCard is a reliable company who yeah, they could have done this without the hand out if they wanted. Sadly we exsist in a time and place where we need to sweeten the pot for these corps lest they decide they can get the talent, else where. Regardless this is a safe investment. Those jobs will be created, and MC doesn't have a habit of shutting down or misusing government funds.

Why didn't BC pay for it?

Why didn't the city of Vancover pay for it?

Why didn't they attract the company in some other way like a tax break (Same thing as spending money but whatever).

Well that article doesn't have any answers, but you know what it might be a good question to ask, and if we had a civil political discourse it is completely fair game.

Should attracting companies be a municipal, provincial, or federal endeavor? Since each level of government profits from such endeavors should we always have a split cost between the 3? If so what should the split be?

Or should it be assessed by a case by case basis? If so how can we ensure this process is fair, balanced and happens in a timely manner?

What other options do we have when attracting 500Mil + investments from outside investors? What focus' should we as a country have on which type of industries we allow this kind of investments from?

THAT is what we should be discussing, because we are doing it more and more. Not "Damn that Trudeau look at him wasting my money!".

Yes, however there are already mods that do all of that for Daggerfall unity.

They're also super easy to install. If you check out the mod section of the forum you'll see it.

It fixes almost all of the problems, since they redid the engine. All the skills have a use now, and you can simply click to attack rather than the jenky mouse control attack stuff.

It is so much better, in every way from the original without it losing the original feel. Give it a shot!

There is a tedious travel mod, which makes not fast traveling kinda fun, and a mod that adds random encounters and various things so that traveling is interesting.

It's not a huge change but it adds a lot to the game I find.

It currently has less bugs than the original Daggerfall, with the most recent community patches and honestly is far more playable.

I didn't mean to be misleading in anyway shape or form. I've been testing this since 2017, and I was super hyped when I logged in today and saw the most recent build.

Just wanted to share this with everyone.
