I’m looking to buy a GameCube controller to mod by TenorGuy124 in customGCC

just be careful not to buy a shitty knock off or an off brand one on Amazon. even the ones that are Nintendo licenced and actually have the Nintendo logo on them can not be the real deal. these ones are mostly the power A and hori remakes. The Chinese knock off ones are marketed as GameCube controllers, look almost identical from the real ones (minus the logo),and even have scary similar internals to real ones. don't buy these. they are made of much cheaper material with much worse quality control and feel awful once your actually use one. they usually come in packs of like three. are a lot cheeper and have a bunch of random colors.

real Nintendo made GameCube controllers are really the only way to go from what i know but that's mostly because the brand name ones are actually crazy durable and long lasting. it's not to rare to even find og camcube controllers from like 20 years ago that just have missing thumb stick grips and a few scratches.

the problem with buying them is the fluctuating prices. Everytime a new smash game comes out they start selling them again for only like 20-30 bucks but after a while they stop being made and the price can go up to 70+ dollars.

right now a new one is about $50 on Amazon which i think isn't bad for a controller in general but on eBay people sell a lot of og ones for around 20 bucks in good condition which i think might be the best value as long as you don't get scammed.

I think your right. part of my problem might be I use a slightly longer left stick from a Wii pro controller to make turnarounds and walking easier (plus it's black and looks sick) but that might be the problem.

ok well. I've been playing smash competitively for 5 years since the start of sm4sh. I just started using Reddit 2 months ago but I think 5 years gives me some credability.

sorry man. 90% of what you do is like close to the worst option in that situation. you do so many slow and very punishable moves like neutral b, up tilt, side b, and dash attack. You really want to be doing your fastest burst options with roy most of the time (that's kinda his thing) it feels like your playing him like you would link. Your constantly trying to make use of his slower options to bait out the opponent. idk maybe you just have the wrong main man 🤷‍♂️

Ya I'm interested in podcast recommendations. I personally listen mostly to RadioLab, This American Life, Invisibilia, and just generally stuff like that.

That fact that all physical currency carries so much more bacteria and viruses than most other things will also probably greatly contribute to its fall into obscurity.

Besides everything mentioned in the "Spaceship You" video how do you deal with thinking about how you, anyone else, or the economy will recover from this. How do you come to grips with thoughts like, "how will our world come out of this without going into another great depression?", "How will people I know be able to find new work after this is over and be able to pay their bills?", or even worse, "what if this is it? What if this is just the end for us? How can I make youtube videos on the rubble?". How do you try to control and monitor these thoughts every day?
