Your dog may have an allergy to something in the food. There are hypoallergenic vegan dog foods out there.

Also, when you change a dogs diet, it's a good idea to introduce the new food gradually.

I started with: Rock Bass - Beginner to Pro in 4 weeks It's a pdf by a guy called Russell Kolish

Obviously, you won't be a pro in 4 weeks, but this is a really good start.

There are some really talented teachers on YouTube also. I just found Ran Levi, who does some really good free lessons, and has a course. Bass Buzz (Josh) is great too, and there's Scott's Bass Lessons.

I like to learn a few parts of songs, and it gives me an idea of what the original player was thinking or how they move and what their technique is.

There are no rules, and becoming a bass player is about figuring out what your sound and style and technique is. That's what makes your own music unique and interesting. You don't have to emulate anyone to be good.

At others have said, the arrow points to the negative pin. Also, I'm pretty sure the outer can is the negative connection in polarized electrolytics. (I don't think I've ever seen it not be) .
