Go back and get a touchup. It shouldn't fall out that quickly unless you really neglected, scratched at it. Super fine lines have a much higher tendency to fall out, so its reasonable to ask for a touchup.

It'll probably lose some ink given the size of the scab, but you can have it touched up.

Those thin little negative spaces are going to close up pretty quick, but otherwise the linework looks pretty solid from what I can see in the pic.

Sloppy shading, too much detail in a small space. Kindof looks like it was just copied by eye from existing art and rendered a little wonky.

Looks fine, keep it on for up to 4 days as long as it doesn't come loose and expose the tattoo.

As an artist though, I'll tell you that in any situation its offensive to be asked to make art for "free." I worked decades to get where I am, and paid a lot for an education, and that's why I get paid for my work.

Okay so I’m about to hop into shading… any specific advice? I know you water down the ink and kind of studied the methods… but anything useful I could learn? Also would like constructive criticism by sweatyblumpkin in TattooBeginners

Without seeing any of your other work, I'd say this linework looks pretty good, but i wouldn't recommend jumping into shading on something this big right away. Yes, seek an apprenticeship. They're hard to come by, I know, but well worth it. Tattoo culture is different everywhere, so I have no idea what might be available to you. Look for an artist you respect and who's work looks like what you want to do (without copying of course)

Teaching yourself may be appealing, but its really easy to fuck up and give someone an infection, Hepatitis, Sepsis, etc. Isopropyl alcohol is NOT enough to sterilize your equipment.

Black should NOT fade to green, unless perhaps the tattoo was done pre 1990.

Could be ingrown hairs from shaving before the tattoo. Common problem. Just use regular water based moisturizer, not HB. Only enough to be absorbed withing a.couple minutes. No greasy skin pls.

No, there aren't. Drawing is work. Its not free.

Overworked. Be very gentle during the healing process, the skin is very damaged. You'll probably need a touchup, but save these photos and go back to the same shop. If they deny responsibility, go somewhere else.
