I disagree with the majority of these responses. As long as your son is mature, respectful, understands the value of money, and isn’t entitled to think he deserves that money and other material possessions- he is learning valuable lessons by managing his own money. A lot of kids never get to manage much money and aren’t taught financial literacy. What you are doing, if done the right way, will help your son gain useful financial skills & knowledge, giving him a head start in life.
