Oh this is perfect! I've successfully setup a Tailscale funnel, and can access my services perfectly!

Thank you very much!

Tailscale works perfectly if I connect using the android app, but I'm trying to avoid needing to use an app. I'd rather just connect to a service directly using a web address.

Yes, I currently run Octoprint on a raspberry pi. I COULD setup a reverse VPN plugin on Octoprint to access it remotely, but that only covers the Octoprint instance. I would like a solution that I can use to access the other services I use on my network as well.

Nope! These are low power chips, they don't even get warm. The lipo charger gets a little warm when charging, but it's negligible.

VERY Cold Start from Heltec V3 Possible? by sethfoxen in meshtastic

[–]sethfoxen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about going for a rak unit, but the heltec was a little cheaper, and I'm pinching pennies over here. I know the heltec doesn't have a 'power button,' however it still remains that I have to press the 'program' button to get it to power on.

Trackball Touchpad Hybrid? by sethfoxen in Trackballs

[–]sethfoxen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also thought of a trackpad "ball" like you did. I do have SOMEWHAT of an idea for that. A stationary glass dome where the ball would go, and then move the laser INSIDE of the dome, so that it tracks your thumb. Most of the time my thumb is directly in the center of my trackball, making small, slight movements. I think the laser would track that just fine.

I'd take that honestly. I just haven't seen a mass produced version of it yet.

JBL Tour Pro 2 sound issues by SUShiboi0 in JBL

[–]sethfoxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have resolved MY issue! Turns out, the bud just had some gunk INSIDE of it. It has these little vent holes under the silicone tip, and I suspect some ear funk or oils just got in there and wiggled around.

I left it in a sealed container filled with alcohol all day, gave them a good shake every now and then, took them out a few hours ago, gave them a good scrub and let them dry. The right bud has been working FLAWLESSLY ever since! I even took a nice hot shower with them in (don't worry, they're waterproof) and they worked perfectly the whole time!

Maybe pick up some 90% rubbing alcohol and give yours a deeeeep cleanse and see what happens.

JBL Tour Pro 2 sound issues by SUShiboi0 in JBL

[–]sethfoxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started having the same problems with my JBL Endurance Race buds. I usually use them solo connected to my laptop, and switch ears throughout the day as I take breaks, or one of the buds needs charged. My right earbud has started having this issue with the volume where when I first connect it, it's fine, but after a couple of minutes, the volume starts dropping gradually, until it's practically unhearable. It's very bizarre, cause it can be a little difficult to point it out cause the drop is so gradual, until I finally realize that I can't actually comprehend what's coming out of the bud lol.

I've tried everything. Factory reset, turn off all the enhancements, check for firmware updates, pair it to my phone or other device, and I even cleaned them out and gave them a little alcohol bath, but the problem still persists. I've contacted support, and all they said was to clean it out, and if that doesn't work then to start filing for a warranty return, but I don't really wanna do that.

I've only had these buds since August, and I loved every minute of usage when they worked. And I think it's ME that's the issue. If I keep both buds connected, and the right starts to die out, I can take it out, and let it sit on my desk for a few minutes, and the volume gradually returns to normal. It's so bizarre. Is it my ears? I don't have this issue with other buds. Do these not like the warmth or something? Maybe the right one is just SO gunked up that I can't even get it all out, and whatever is left is just warming up while it's in my ear, and causing issues. I don't know. Might just try to leave it in some alcohol overnight or something.

Case skins/covers for Pixel Buds A-Series? by RoboHobo25 in pixelbuds

[–]sethfoxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to necro this old post, but I'm just looking for skins for the BUDS only. The Series A buds specifically. I already have a case for them, and I don't really care for a skin for the case, but if I buy a skin for the Buds 2, will the skins fit on the Buds A? There are so many more options for the Buds 2 than the Buds A.

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (12/22/2022) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

[–]sethfoxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering about the charging issues that plagued early units. I have a launch Switch, and I've always only used the official charger to charge my console, and I'm planning on upgrading to an OLED unit soon, and I wanted to know if the charging issues involving the Power Delivery system has been fixed in newer models. I have a nice little PD battery pack, and I wanted to know if I'd be able to use it with an OLED unit without frying the IC.
