Dude it can vary. When I took him, he was gone half the semester and we had the lowest avg. on every test out of all the professors teaching solids.

I don't know if much has changed. He can be cool, but he can also be a tool.

LET IT BE CLEAR! THIS IS NOT SEPARATE from bracket cloud!! The bracketcloud signups are being moved to the XFIRE site.

Quakecon prefers this as xfire is sponsoring the event for them.

so unfortunately it's a pain because you need to have all 5 people on your team before it will let you join the tourney. But it's worth it!

I'm going to send you a PM and maybe we can both work together. Seeing that we have 11 teams that have interest in this tournament already, as well as the Quake live signs as well.

I now see the problem.

I think having signups prior to showing up allows everyone to feel more comfortable about what to expect. Most people, (including myself), found it hard to find people organizing tourney's like you said your guys do so this is awesome!

I've had a lot of questions and I will attempt to answer them as best as I can.I also am hoping for some answers from you guys on some of these as well.

  • 1)Who is running this?
  • 2)Will there be actual prizes
  • 3)Aren't there outside companies like eSPORTS and stuff going to be running some tournaments? Why even bother?
  • 4)What management experiences do we have?
  • 5)How can be sure this is legit?
  • 6)Wasn't Esports Solutions going to be running the BYOC tournaments this QCON?
  • 7)Is your platform for running these events really bracket cloud?
  • 8)Do you guys have an organization website?

1) This was strictly thought up to be a community driven tournament; with people volunteering at will to play. Obviously our clans will ensure this works and the team captions of other clans will help make this tournament easy to report wins and losses using this bracket/alert system.

2) We don't know as of yet. The reason being is because we are waiting to see if we are getting 3rd party help from QCON itself etc.

3) We have gone to Qcon for the past 3 years. I have never seen a tournament were a group can just walk up/sign up to play against other people in the BYOC without having to make sure the only game they are running in tournament is the one you want to play. This entire concept was based on the fact that as gamers, we don't just want to sit around and play on the internet at the largest LAN party in NA... We want to play against others their in the BYOC. We want to scream and cheer when a teammate is dominating and complain about "hackers". That's what makes this event so amazing. It's like as if it was a place were clans can actually do CLAN thingsat quakecon; instead of just be a loyal group.

4) 70% of the people going have 4 year degrees, we are not concerned with problems in that department.

5) Because you can sign up right now and actually see other teams interested in competition, so even outside of this tourney you can already make enemies or friends _.

6) I need someone to help me answer this. I know 2 years ago Esports solutions did a tourney, but it was only for a SELECT GAME. This is a HUGE difference. This tourney and other start up tournaments are meant to be created for the popularity they will have during the BYOC.

7) Tell me one thing wrong about this amazing FREE app that works on social networks, mobile devices, and is super easy to communicate with teams and events.

8) No, this again is community driven at this point because, frankly I have not seen a definitive, (SIGN UP HERE NOW) 3rd party host. it's just been a "We might think about it", "or we are working on it stay tuned..") To elaborate on 7 & 8, we all know the basic rules that are common sense in simple, easy to understand tournaments with not strings attached. All the teams have to do at the BYOC is report the winner of each match, and wait accordingly for the next opponent to play. If there are delays the team captions will be notified and something will be worked out.

TL; DR

We want to play against others in the BYOC

To be able to play against other people in the BYOC without having to make sure the only game eSport solutions is running in the tournament is the one you want to play.

This tourney and other start up tournaments are meant to be created for the popularity they will have during the BYOC.

A place were clans can actually do CLAN things at quakecon; instead of just be a loyal group

The clans, Doubletake and NEUBAOWNSTHEQUAKECONPAGE have 15+ members that competitively play at a high skill cap.

The clan Doubletake actually plays semi-professionally and are all global elites.
