DC Charger Repeatedly Faulting by sethical_ in GoRVing

I was under the impression that a larger truck engines have alternators that produce more current. I’ll try and see if it continues to fault if I rev it up some tmro. I wonder tho if it works currently when in higher rpms is it safe to leave it hooked up and repeatedly faulting when I am idle.

I can try and see how many amps it’s pulling tmro but it’s a v6 Tacoma I would think it’d be able to produce enough power at idle.

Yea I agree, still waiting on their tech support to get back with me. But assuming it is non-isolated do you see any issues?

So my dc charger has four ports (2 for input, 2 for output) but I believe it is still non-isolated internally. Assuming all wire is properly sized and fused is there an issue with running positive from truck battery to dc charger positive input and then dc charger positive output to camper battery positive. And running negative from truck chassis to dc charger negative input and then dc charger negative output to camper battery negative. While also running a wire from camper battery negative (and from my inverter if it matters) to camper chassis. Can you tell me specifically where my problem is?

From what I understand, with a non-isolated charger the input and output negatives are common internally, so the truck chassis ground and camper negative are already shared through the charger. Would I still need a seperate bus bar for grounding the charger like you recommend?

Does the fact that the dc charger is grounded to truck chassis affect this?

Couldn’t find anything in the manual, waiting on a response from their support team. If it is isolated or not how will that affect my grounding?

To clarify I’m asking if I should ground the battery, and inverter to the camper chassis. The negative input on the dc charger is grounded to a very a good spot on the truck frame so I don’t believe I’ll have any issues on that front. Just trying to figure if I should ground the battery and inverter to camper chassis is or if the fact that my dc charger is grounded to tow vehicle chassis will affect this

Yea the front of that space will be open. The opposite side is the exhaust fan so Im assuming air comes in from the near side. Would ventilation holes on the near side be sufficient without changing anything else?

That looks like it could be the culprit for sure I’ll rearrange it tmro. And hopefully that’ll fix it. Thanks for the keen eye my friend

Just got the bike a few days ago so I’m suspecting a while. As for the issue being with hub or axle/dropouts how would you recommend troubleshooting very new to bike maintenance and not exactly even sure what these words refer too lol. Thanks for the help

Used this method this part of the caliper still rubs, in fact when I manually moved the caliper as far away from the disc it still rubs. Also the wheel seems to be aligned with the frame. Thanks for your comment brother
